I liked Overlord a lot so this is just great to me :) I just hope they make the gameplay mechanics a wee bit more diverse this time around.

The gameplay essentially consisted of telling your guys where to go. Thats about it... The "Overlord" you play as is weak as fuck. IF they make the game more engaging and give the player more to do, I might consider it. Beyond that this game is nothing to me but fail.

The control of minions is the game's thing. It won't do to make the Overlord all powerfull and full of abilities because then the game's uniqueness will be gone.

I liked the first game, and if they can improve on it maybe I'll love the sequel.

It's good to see a game that doesn't look like Gear of War every once in a while :)

I like the style!

The style was very similar to Fable, and it even had a lot of the same problems. There wasn't enough freedom, you were pretty much stuck on a straight path for the whole thing. If it were less linear, more like Pikmin it would have been a lot more enjoyable.

People need to realize that linear doesn't equal bad. Overlord never promised to be open-ended or anything, it's just a fun game in which you torch things with little red devils :)

this was basically the pikmin for the non nintendo owner. and i enjoyed it up to a point. for me to be ven remotely interested in this one, they need to make the controls more streamlined and accessible. cos the first game was complex as hell.

I don't think that even for a second. Infact, I'm completely against the fact that every game is trying to do the whole "open world/freedom" thing, particularly things like the new Prince of Persia, that just really doesn't need it.

However, the areas in Pikmin were a lot larger than they were in Overlord, and it focused a lot more on the problem solving side. Perhaps they're trying to stay away from that, to make it more different, but in my opinion, it would help the game. The world was beautiful, but it was so small and restricted you couldn't really appreciate any of it.

WinterSnowblind: i don't agree at all, i do however think that they could have made the gameplay a bit more approachable by making the controlls simpler and also to add some diversity to the game. As it is now all the missions are the same, more or less and it get monotonous after a while. It's like fetch this item then kill the boss and there's never anything else. And since you basically just point the minions to their goal and then they do the work, it's not very involving and gets pretty old after about half the game. But all in all i had a fun time with overlord, though i had to take a month long break inbetween the halves of the game.

Man it's Overlord overload! 3 brand new Overlord games all on different systems? The first one was awesome, and all 3 of these look sweet. I can't believe how good the DS version looks, and I'm very pleased with the Fable-level graphics for the Wii version. Nice to see some good 3rd party efforts on the Wii for a change.

I hope this one has more interesting stuff to do at your tower etc (stuff to build and so on). And i hope that it will let you play the game the way YOU want to, rather than like the later stages of the first game where you were forced to use the water imps for example for certain parts. I hate being forced to use specific things, just makes it seem like a puzzle game rather than a game where you control hordes of imps. And if its just gonna be a puzzle game, why not just replace the imps with cards or whatever :P

I don't know how you can say this. Once his equipment was upgraded, the overlord was a killing machine. You could solo almost every creature group in the dungeon all by yourself.

Yea not every game needs to be open-ended. Linear games allow for more puzzles and I think this game looks great. Also, I agree with whoever mentioned Prince of Persia...the first one on the xbox was a really good linear game

Er... Yeah just thought i'd say, You're not gonna be weak if you know how to play, That's why you need the Minions, i mean your still human ( I think ) not a god. Also i loved Overlord 1 I loved it so much i bought the expansion after that on PS3, I just hope that Overlord 2 still has those humourous moments, it was the evil silliness of this game that made me love it :P P.S. i hope it has Co-Op in it if you ever want to show you're mate how cool it is
