Agreed. For me, it's probably one of the best movies ever. The feeling of awe it inspired was second to none.

Jurassic Park is up there on my list of the best movies ever for me :p
It was an amazing movie, really loved it. I remember seeing it i was like 7 years old or something... Watched it so many times on VHS :p

Sadly the sequels were bad compared to the first movie. The Lost World could be so much better :(, recently readed the book and it was amazing.

Now movies i watched lately: Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven.

Gladiator is one of the all time great movies for me. As for Kingdom of Heaven... well given Ridley Scott's reputation, I was very disappointed. It wasn't bad at all, but some people labelling it as good as Gladiator were way off the mark.

Yeah i agree. Gladiator was amazing, even so i liked Kingdom of Heaven lot. Just disliked the main actor Orland Bloom, should have been Russell Crowe :D

I think the first Ridley Scott movie I ever watched was Legend, and I had the biggest hardon for it.
Bought the soundtrack and everything.

That man is underrated fo'dam'sho.

Well it's not a movie, but I just finished watching the HBO miniseries John Adams. A few relatively minor historical inaccuracies aside, it was fucking fantastic. I wish there was more. It's a lifetime of trials, ending in both success and failure, all crammed into seven episodes.

I know HBO made a movie based on David McCullough's Truman biography as well, but I would love to see more bio-dramas set in earlier periods of history. Colonial American history is particularly interesting to me, but any historical bio-drama has potential.

I saw Tropic thunder in the cinema's the other day, what a waste of money, 75% of the jokes are not funny, and except from tom cruise and Downey Jr. it's a pretty bland movie.....

Saw Hell Boy 2 today, that was a really enjoyable movie; Loved all the different creatures and such... Really enjoyed the movie!

And I saw Stephen King's: The Mist.
Didn't expect it to be this good to be honest! Especially the ending is really good!
Loved it!

I saw Tropic Thunder on Tuesday and was probably laughing out loud for about 75% of it. The only thing I didn't like was the enemy leader being a child; it really served no purpose. The Simple Jack stuff more than made up for it though.

Yeah Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr were in my opinion the best part of the movie

Hellboy 2 I thought was pretty awful

James Cameron directed one Alien movie.. and it's not even the first one, so I don't think it's really fair to call it his franchise. It's also not fair that Alien 4 exists. What a shitty movie, it makes Alien 3 look fucking great by comparison (which it isn't).

I actually like all the Alien movies, even 4. Ridley Scott, James Cameron, and the last one I believe is by the guy who did Amelie (lol)

You could say the same about Star Wars though. You can't really credit Lucas with the original trilogy too much since he only directed the one

But it's still his story and concept, throughout the entire franchise. It's not like Cameron developed the story and lore of alien in any way. I think he's a fantastic director, and Aliens is a fantastic movie, but it's not "his franchise."

I think Alien 3 is an okay flick. It sort of shits on Aliens though, which makes it suffer a little. But yes, it's fucking worlds better than the pile of shit that is Alien 4.
