I'm noticing a trend of those New Yorkers hatin on TDK. Just mad because Batman eats deep dish instead of Brooklyn.

Grow up. Hell, if I made Batman, he'd live in Orlando and the Bat Signal we'd be from Universal Studios. The Joker would have suffered facial damage from a fatal slime accident.

Metacritic really annoys me sometimes. Sure it's a great of tracking how well a film/game/album has been received, but it seems that almost anyone able to post a review can have it counted towards a Metacritic rating. Notice how the higher end scores are from acclaimed sites and writers.

The reason why some have given it a low rating is ridiculous as well - because it's "not fun enough". Sure some superheroes movie are meant to be primarily all about action and fun, but that's not how Batman was meant to be portrayed. He's a dark, twisted character with a troubled childhood. That's why I loved Batman: Begins, because it was quite dark and a welcomed step away from the mediocrity that formerly surrounded this superhero.

agreed

batman character and the comic are best imo, it has the best villians in comic books history, they are so intriguing

as for the movie, the hype reminds me of halo, and i'm afraid it won't satisfy everyone

haha yeah, they can go suck a lemon.

I've read some people comparing this to Godfather II and saying it's on of the best films all-time, which is some serious bull.

Now it is the best super-hero film, and a damn good movie period. Like Begins it often drifts between a super-hero film and a serious crime drama. I thought all the actors did a good job, even man looking Maggie. Aaron played a damn good Harvey/Two-Face which was up in the air going by the trailers, but I thought he did a good job in the end. Bale did a good enough job(which is weird to say). I thought he played Bruce Wayne perfectly, but his Batman was a little stale at times. Mostly do to his heavier smoker voice. For some stupid reason they made it even darker/grittier than it was in Begins. So yeah, it would sometimes kill the scene. Gary was Gary, in the sense that he brought the awesome like you expect. Then of course, last but not lease there was Ledger. Well, there's nothing more that can really be said about his performance. You were literally in awe the whole time he was on screen, and antsy for his return when he wasn't. There's definitely a difference between playing the role and becoming the role. Jack played the Joker, but Ledger became the Joker. It's as simple as that. I believe he should get some sort of recognition by the Academy for his portrayal, but that's just me. Not saying he has to win it, but if they can give a nod to Depp for Jack Sparrow then they can do the same for Ledger. Who cares if it's a comic-book movie. Good acting is good acting.

Anyway, The fighting scenes were actually more frequent and good, and they didn't have to whole cut camera cuts so you had no idea what the hell was going on like Begins did. The score by Zimmer and Howard was great as you expect. Really loved the Joker theme. They way they used it in the film was similar to the use of the Jaws theme. Really liked that. Overall, definite Batman film(duh), definite Super-hero film for now(double duh), and damn good movie overall.

Oh yeah, and see it in IMAX. That is all.

Not only that but it also beat Spider Man 3 for biggest opening weekend and Revenge of the Sith for biggest Midnight opening. Which is just awesome, since both of those trash films sure as hell didn't deserve it.

I saw this sunday. Duped my roommates into seeing it after we left this Chinese buffet. Complaining the whole time. They couldn't shut up about it after it was over though. That'll teach them to doubt my powers. I'm a man of my word.
