My mind was made up about her the moment I heard that absolutely awful Umbrella song.

I can't stand when people hard auto-tune the vocals like that...definitely not my cup of tea.

I like when songs are catchy and also not annoying...which that part was in spades.

To be honest though, I simply don't like that kind of music in general. Me commenting on it is like Jolli commenting on FPSes or Korndog on 360 games :P

I don't like her voice, I don't like her look, and I don't like the music that gets produced for her to sing along with. I'm not sure there's any way I could experience her and enjoy it.

MV = music video? It's just a guess. Also i'm with Mr. Sauce on this one, i find her offensive to basically all of the available senses (only sight and hearing i guess, but i also find the entire genre and production to be less than satisfactory. Offending two senses is plenty anyhow). I find this totally lacking in originality, inventiveness and technical proficiency (things i rate very highly in music). Also quit abusing the goddamn autotune, it sounds like shit!

Like i said before i don't much like the genre much at all. In fact RnB is possibly the kind of music i dislike the most. Hip hop holds the second place of my all time disliked genres. So like Ronsauce said, i probably should just shut the f***k up about it but i can't help but whine a little :D

Taste first and foremost. Also i find most rnb and hip hop tunes to be very lacking musically and the themes just don't speak to me at all. I just can't relate to some guy saying mother fucker or hoe ever two seconds, or "singing" about how hard it is to grow up in Brooklyn or whatever to a simple beat. I know that this isn't a particularly fair view of the whole genre as such but it's what i hear when i listen to it on the radio, and i'm not going to spend my time wading through a swamp of bad music to find a tune or two that might be passable as entertainment.

I'm so distanced from the entire hip hop culture at large that i just can't relate to it and i personally value technical prowess with an instrument MUCH higher than rhyming. But that's just me, to each his own. I'm not telling you that hip hop or RnB is bad, i just don't like it at all myself.

^^^ its understandable, if you don't like it. some people can listen to all sorts genre's other can't. i see why u didn't like it! what you listen on the radio is mainstream hip hop, its field with garbage songs, but thats what sells, so that what executives of label companies want you to listen. but their more good artist who are against and refuse to join the mainstream hip hop. as result their work tends to be more intellectually or more meaningfull topics than mainstream rap on the radio

i guess it depends in what you are looking for in music.

personally i listen to whatever is good to the ears,

I like metal, but I've never heard a single death/black metal song that didn't sound like complete garbage.

I'm generally not a fan of growling or screaming in other kinds of metal, but if there are some decent melodies and some catchy riffs, then I can tolerate it.

The only band that has tolerable growling is opeth imo. I generally hate that shit otherwise. I do listen to metal and rock a lot, but that stuff that Beagle linked to does not even register as music with me. It's pure abuse of instruments and vocal cords :P

I guess i'd choose hip hop over that, but it's just barely ;)
