Yes, it is true that Poland have a great coach in Beenhakker.

However, Germany have such an array of talent in their squad, most notably in attack.

It is so good that either Klose or Podolski looks to have a role on the bench, as one of them is likely to partner Mario Gomez up front.

I believe Poland vs Germany will be a very close one, too. We barley beat them at the WC 06 with just a 1:0 in the last minutes. This was considered one of the greatest matches of the tourney by the germans (not from a technical pov, but a dramatic and dynamic changing one).

That said, at the WC Poland was with their backs against the wall. They had no chance of making it into the 1/8 finals and played with nothing to loose. But they also evolved quite a bit since then, thanks to their new couch. And they had a good quallification round beating even Portugal. That's something I'd like to say about our team as well but appart from Ballack (who I considder to be one of the best players in the whole tourney) noone of them did huge leaps in the last two years and the team stayed practicaly the same.

I am looking forward to seeing how Mario Gomez performs. I've heard a lot about him and his potential.

Yeah, deserved from the Germans there though.

Frings and Lahm were exceptional but, as a Chelsea fan, I was a bit disappointed with Ballack's performance.

Hopefully the guys will do better against Croatia and Germany. It was pretty funny though to see a player being sad after shooting a goal. :P

Tomorrow I'm rooting Romania and Holland. Too bad Bulgaria is not playing in Euro, my flatmate is from there so it would be a good time watching matches together.

Holland are my favourites in the whole tournament if you read my previous posts in this thread.

They're missing Robben, which is a huge blow. They'll be up against it against Italy, but they're certainly capable of winning.

As for Romania .. well, ya never know! They've got every chance in my opinion against the Grandads of Football, France. XD

Grandads of football?? Ribery, Benzema, Ben Arfa, Nasri? I think france is a good mix of old and new.

croatia vs austria was suprisingly good, reminded of EPL, very physical game.

as for germany excellet game, pudoski (the scorer) didn't celebrety cause he was born in poland and large part of his family still lives there. kinder like how tevez never celebrates when scoring against west ham

Yeah, it was a joke, because that's what they're commonly known as.

The first game was disappointing but the second was the most entertaining. I really hope the Oranges will win their group. That's that kind of football we want to see this Euro.

I don't like to brag or nothing (except, well, I do) but I did tip Holland to do great things at the beginning. ;)

They have a superb midfield in Sneijder and Van Der Vaart, and they played some brilliant football in the demolition of Italy. I hope, as a Chelsea fan, that Mr. Abramovich decides to splash the cash on Van Der Vaart because he'd be a great addition to our squad.

Diego is twice the player van der vaart is. They'd be better off spending their money there.

Nice game for the dutch, I'm really really hoping for a Dutch-Portugal final of course with Portugal taking it. Their game 2 years ago was epic.

It was very entertaining, but had little to do with football don't you think? ;)
I'm hoping for a Portugal-Germany final, we've served them pretty good in the WC '06. ^^

Portugal and Germany can only meet in the semi-finals. 2 years ago you guys beat us it was a 3rd place game and Germany was playing at home, I think Portugal can take Germany like we did in 2000. Unless an upset happens both teams will probably be meeting... and after we'll play the dutch.

Yes, Deco is right; Portugal and Germany can only meet in the semi finals.

From a neutral in the sense that I do not favour Germany nor Portugal, i'd say it'd be a really tight affair.

Portugal have a lot of attacking talent - as do Germany to be fair - but the Portugal back four is far more competent than the German back four in my opinion.

Yeah, against a Spain or a Holland I think they'd really struggle if i'm being honest.

Really liking the game at the moment; being played at a real good pace.
