I don't know if you guys know this, it isn't terribly new but it is so much better!

Mostly applying to the newest youtube videos, you add &fmt=18 at the end of the video's URL and you'll get a MUCH higher quality video.

Open both these links in different tabs, pause at the 7 second mark, and switch between tabs............INCREDIBLE.

Try Firefox? I opened up IE7 and didn't notice anything at first. Then it started working. Then both videos stopped working. Glad I don't use IE!

all their doing is starting to port the Iphone version of the videos over to the main youtube site.

My guess would be the massive amount of piracy, which they couldn't seem to control. It's either that, or the cost of bandwidth without any reasonable return.

I believe there's a setting (if you have an account) to always play a higher quality version if it's available.

If you're looking for tv shows check out hulu first, they have better quality.
