I believe there's a setting (if you have an account) to always play a higher quality version if it's available.

If you're looking for tv shows check out hulu first, they have better quality.
Yes, there is: Account\Video Playback Quality

And there definatly IS a huge diffrence. One is blocky and the score is unreadable the other is smother.
