I haven't tried with my own controller but maybe I test if it installs correctly.

Since 7570 DaysAs far as I know there is no OS config to be had, and if a game doesn't recognize your 360 pad, you're pretty much SOL, unless you come across some sort of hack or patch for the game.

Since 7570 DaysI have one on XP and it just calls it a USB Human Interface Device, but if I click its properties in the Device Manager I can see it is called the "Xbox 360 whatchamacallit".
Can't remember what the OS refers to it as, on initial plug in, though I think it was "Xbox 360 whatchamacallit"...
(of course that was after I installed the driver)
Since 7344 DaysI tried with my controller and it worked right away. I'll try to think something more to try if you can't get it to work.
Oh and one more thing to ask. Does it show up on control panel -> game controllers? Just asking because I am not sure where you are trying to look it. Device manager? If so there it is named as PlumbDrumb said.
