I`ve got the Hyundai W240D monitor and it`s great my friend!.

They do it now with a gloss screen which helps ALOT with better colour reproduction as well as deeper blacks and richer overall hues etc. It`s WESA compliant too.

Specs:

* HDMI input

* DVI input

* VGA input

* Component input

5ms response time and a great contrast ration too. It has a native resolution too of 1920 x 1200, so just make sure that you`ve got a graphix card that makes good use of it`s high res lol (eeek). It also includes 1:1 pixel mapping too and have it`s ration of 16:10 which is cool.

Because I`m a hardware whore too, I love the fact that it`s got a piano black finish and the l.e.d on the front is blue lol.

It`s a touch panel for all your controls which is kinda finicky but nice at the same time. Check out overclockers.co.uk and see what`s about. So far it`s caused me no hassle or aggro and I highly reccomend it.

Hope this helps.

Also, I`ve heard alot of good things with Samsung, so they would be my next choice.

(I'm Belgian, so excuse my english ^^)

I've read an article on a french site about the samsung t220, and it says that this monitor is exellent but it needs 2 adjustments :

- Put the option "gamma" on "mode 2".
- For its reactivity : put the option "RTA" from "1" to "2". According to this site, there is no black or reverse ghosting after this change.

I hope it will look better after these changes, because the t220 is the monitor I want to buy :D

I recommend the TV I have in my room:

The Samsung LE32R71. It's easy to set up, HD ready and is perfect for gaming. I can't even begin to tell you how good Gears of War looks on it. I'm not sure if they do it in that colour anymore (white and red) because mine was 'limited edition', but the standard black one looks just as good.

Try to restaure the RTA option from mode 2 to mode 1, that should resolve the problem... I hope so :p

No, still bleeds, but its not THAT bad, like i said i just noticed it while watching a movie, and it had the black lines on top and bottom.
From reading many reviews, MOST lcds do this anyway.

I wish they sold the viewsonic vx2255 in canada, i would try them both and be able to asses which one is better.
from lesnumeriques, the viewsonic gives better colours without being alot slower.

SchmoobooIgnoreSend, answering your question I would recommend you to visit TestFreaks, choose monitors category and sort models by score:
http://www.testfreaks.com/monitors/?sort=score
Such way you'll see what 22-24' monitors have the best score based on expert and user reviews.
I think this is the most objective way to understand which monitor is the best.
Hope it will help

It's not the newest model but from what I've read and heard the Samsung 226BW is still one of the best (if not the best) 22" LCD monitor for allround use, and especially if you want to play games..

I have it myself aswell (since 04-2007), and I still like it very much..
