Comes out Friday 10th over here in the UK and was wondering if theres any reviews yet.

COD2 was great, which was down to infinty ward.

COD3 looks great but is not done by infinity ward.

worth the preorder?

Gears of War is rather short game and if someone doen't play online can buy another game, too.

Too many shooters coming out this Fall. I just plan on getting GOW for now. If I get bored shooting the Locust, would I really want to pop in another disc and shoot Nazis? I might get R6V in December. Maybe sooner if they didn't keep pushing the release back.

Yep, bad timing, though COD online is pretty fun, now if they'd just ban sniper rifle's online then I might get COD3 and take it online aswell, though GOW seems like more fun to play online (and offline obviously)...

COD3 would have been better released earlier this year.

Right now it is going up against SCDA, Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas and Resistance (cough)

If they delayed it until next year it would be up against MOH:Airborne and Brothers In Arms 3 so they couldn't really win.

If it has good reviews and decent multiplayer then the COD2 online community will likely transfer over to it.

I have a feeling that the reviews for COD3 will be good but not great. Only because aside from the graphics it doesn't change much from COD2. But I think that's a good thing.

Yeah well, it seems like a perfect play asia buy to me.
I think I'm gonna buy it there if it's not available today in Paris.
It's a good WW2 shooters, but it lacks team management, IMO.
I wonder if the 2 WW2 shooters using UE3 will look better !
At least you lead a team in BIA and you go parachuting in MoH !
I'm gonna end up buying the 3 of them, sigh

Picked the game up today, gfx are not that great only slightly better then COD2. You really can tell that it's not being made by Infinity Ward ( those are the original developers of COD2 right? ). I'll post a 'review' of the game tomorrow or friday or atleast line up whats good and whats bad not a total review :-)

I'm not sure about this game yet, but I look forward to renting it.

I've been playing Call of Duty 2 for PC almost daily, lately. I doubt that COD3 is what I've been waiting for (what I'm waiting for is for Infinity Ward's next "Call of Duty") but it looks to cater to the console croud a bit better than Call of Duty 2 did.

I love COD2 online a lot--on PC. Rifles only is one of my favorite things to play period--it's like instagib, in a way--more challenging than any of the other modes, but more rewarding too.

I see that COD3's multiplayer is now class based? I'm not sure I support that decision, but the added modes and features directed at xbox live seem to make it a worthy upgrade from COD2, atleast for Xbox only gamers.

I sort of doubt it will replace Call of Duty 2 in my book..even if a PC version of this game was released..I'm not sure it would overtake COD2's popularity. It shares the successful franchise name, but people will recognize the difference.

R6 and COD3 are both region free? Tempting, but not 100% sold on either. R6 seems like GRAW's third person cover system slapped into a first person shooter--and to be honest I'm not totally in love with that concept.

COD3 is just like COD2 only a lot better looking. I have no idea why 1UP gave it such a low score. Few things have changed, but it's basically the same game. Everything looks much better, the weapon models look awesome, much better than in COD2. Some menu items look different, but it's basically the same gameplay with pimped up grafix. The grass looks awesome, and it moves in the wind, so do the trees. It's a very nice effect that brings the game to life even more. If you loved COD2 you gonna love COD3.

All of the reviews are basically harping on the same issues: Single player brings nothing new to the table and is not as engaging as the campaign in Call of Duty 2 (or, from some peoples perspective, The Big Red One). But most people seem to agree that the game has made a significant leap over Call of Duty 2's online performance on Xbox 360.

I've been pretty skeptical this whole time about COD3--simply because the developer has changed and frankly Treyarch has never made a game up to Infinity Ward's standards. I'm willing to give this a go though, and I think from the perspective of a multiplayer _console_ game, it's probably a good step up above Call of Duty 2.

I'll post some impressions when I get around to playing it--which between my time spent gaming on my PC and Gears of War probably won't be as soon as I might hope..but I'll be happy to put it off for a great game.

What I really want to come out of this is for Infinity Ward to announce a new project already--they've obviously been working on SOMETHING since they finished Call of Duty 2.
