the EGM article they had on this game a while back, had me interested, now this just makes it worse. If it really looks and plays like that, plus if they have all the features the EGM article listed, then god damn :)

If yes, damn f***k yeah I knew this would be awesome, I just knew it. I have no problem with EA, I never buy sport games or racing games so I dont care, this game looks so great. Some of you might flame me, but I dont care, I am he phoenix itself, this is as good looking as Gears of War and Lost Planet. the rain looked awesome.
From the first trailer and it was CGI I knew this game would be great, same instinct I had with Lost Planet but that had low-res trailer back in the day. I am gonna buy it this if it really play like this.

Looks decent..graphics are good, atleast. I don't know how much more innovative this will be than Gears of War--but after all of the shit talking on EA's behalf, I would hope it came close in quality.

Still have very little faith in this game..and I'm not an EA hater. Well, I am, in a way--but I also recognize their ability to create and publish some fine games as well. Between their horrible Q&A, and even worse post release game support (unless you pay for it) they're the worst publiser in the world, imo. That doesn't necesarly mean they make the worst games though.

i think you should go somewhere else if you want to talk like that, or atleast do some symbols or calm down. EA did not force you to buy their games, you chose and in every choice there is a consequence, you just have another taste than other makes it what....bad choice.

Army of Two in this trailer is running in-game in real-time, not CGI what so ever, except Alice Murray the SSC Operator, thats CGI, but everything else is in.game.

And it can still be trailer if it is shown in gameplay mode, meaning it is edited as a trailer but it shows off gameplay, meaning what...Gameplay trailer.

I can not believe how much I have to defend Army of Two hahaha.

Well you don't have to defend it from me--I think that there are certain elements that looks stupid (the bling-bling element, mostly..I also think the dialog is rather dumb) but ultimately the gameplay does look interesting. Certainly simular in several aspects to Gears--but then it goes and tries something new--so I'm okay with that. Lets face it, both games borrow from other titles (Kill.Switch, GRAW, Resident Evil even) but that doesn't automatically shave points off the quality of the final product.

Gears of War is a perfect example of just that--a lot of common ideas (and some not-so-common--there are innovative ideas in there, active reload does more to change the gameplay than one might think) coming together..but it's the attention to detail in every single aspect of the game that makes it shine. It's not the graphics, or the gameplay--certainly not the story. But it's how all the elements come together into one finely tuned package.

Can Army of Two do the same? Will it be as FUN and as polished as Gears Of War?

I sort of doubt that..but that doesn't mean it can't be good in its own right. I'm your typically EA hater--the thing is I know full well that they are capable of publishing and producing great products. That's not really my beef with them.

My most played game of this last year was easily BF2--an EA published (and now that they totally own DICE, an EA developed) game. Their support is truely awful though--and it shows signs of getting worse before improving.

Still looks pretty interesting..I'll give it a rental at the very least. People who claim they're boycotting EA and then fold for a good release should just give up the concept all together. Just be a smart consumer--don't buy into their micro-rape-transactions and only buy games that are worth your time and money. They do still make some..unfortunately :P

They were really f'n stupid for ripping into Gears of War the way they did though. Gears is a tough act to follow..and you can be certain that people will be holding this title up to that standard.

Worst publisher in the world. Not the worst games.

I dontlike what EA said about Gears but i am looking pass that and trying to see how Army of Two is gonna turn up. Army of Two is basically only co-op game that you really need help from your friend (real friend or AI). No mission can be done in AOT (Army of Two) without your second merc friend. This game wont have online multiplayer I am sure of that, unless you can choose your own skin (except the main characters Rios and Salem). Then they could have the cover and all that as Gears has in their gameplay and not as GRAW had with their different aspects of cover which they didnt have online, which sucked by the way.

And Grift you have your own opinion and no I am not gonna defend it because you are not "hating" the game, but you make sense. If I remeber right Cliffy said himself that they was borrowing the cover system from other games, but no one have done it as good as Gears, so obviously now with the new technology and concepts and stuff of course other companies that are going for that tactical 3rd person shooter they can add the cover system in their own way in the their own game.
For now, obviously Gears of War is taking the lead, but I am not worried that AOT will have the same good cover system, though the game is not about "stop and pop" as Gears so cover will not be a big role in this game, but partnership is the big role, which Gears of War does not have, which is very good.

Seeing how AOT is being played in this trailer I dont have any doubts I will change my mind, because it looks awesome. The swearing and all that wont be a problem either because in battlefield you are pissed as hell when your partner misses the mag when he throws it at you while bullets is flying in front of your eyes.
