Well people said the same thing about Saints Row. I'll wait for GTA4 before I make that call :)

I am enjoying it very much. The Superhero capabilities actually add a very distinct flair to the whole experience. Visuals are very good, only occasional slowdown and tearing, when there's really lots of things going on.

The levelling system (although speeded up a bit in the demo) also made me want to play more. I killed one of the first "big" thugs, it was quite a fancy experience. I hijacked some of the cars in the game and it seems they all handle differently, kewl.

I had my doubts, but now I will buy it for sure on release day ;))

I honestly didnt bother with Saints Row, but I had big hopes for crackdown.

It just isn't GTA.

Which is a GREAT thing.

Love it, pure unadulterated fun! I know the levelling is sped up in this demo but it gives you that little taster of how awesome your character can become, and the limitless number of ways to approach a situation is amazing. This may be the first game where the term "sandbox" is fully justified, Just Cause came close, but this really does feel like you're a kid playing with toys!

I know Blim said something about the driving being weak, but I found that sticking to Agency and Peacekeeper vehicles was just fine.

I have played GTA but between GTA and this, I would most definitely go with this one, because it is sci-fi with some modern style to it. The artstyle is something I do not like.

Saints Row was awesome and did own GTA gameplay and graphics wise but not quite in story and overall content.

imo...and its only my opinion, this feels "fresh" not like a gta clone that saints row was
who knows what gta4 might be like, it might be pants it might not.....they might just rehash what went before (thats how ive felt with the last 2 gta's)

i am more excited about crackdown and LA noire than gta4

but i think this is going to be a day one purchase

I've been saying that since before they launched the 360. Oh well, maybe one day they'll wake up and realize that all this bandwidth is costing them a fortune and make the switch. Honestly, all it would take is to include an auto torrent client in the next update, that would automatically test your network and handle all the proper settings, and Bob's your uncle.

In the meantime, I am enjoying the mess out of the Crackdown demo. I can't believe this. 2007 has only begun, and I am already up to my third "must own" title (Lost Planet, Battlestations: Midway and now Crackdown). There is a lot than can be said about how a quality pre-released demo can do a lot for selling a game . . . even for a completely unknown IP.

Enough of that, back to the demo.
