Like the ps3 version looks damn good, but I can't get over how the 360 version of mlb 2k7 looks so much better. Its clearly the lighting, but why isn't such lighting implemented in the ps3 version as of yet?

It'll be cool to see if that same lighting makes it into the ps3 version of the game.

Yes. Please lets keep them here. I know someone did a chart of sorts back at launch comparing all the titles, framerates, etc... someone could post a link. A running archive and discussion -- and NOT posting this junk elsewhere in the forum -- would make this place more pleasant. i.e. Keep the bickering and platform dancing to one thread :)

I dunno really, but I'm gonna throw up a ball.. Is it because the Xbox 360 uses the DirectX API and the PS3 uses OpenGL?

It certainly looks like the PS3 is missing some contrast and depth in the lighting etc compared to the Xbox 360 (in that CoD3 video roxwell posted)..

Most multiplatform titles are superior on 360 and will be for quite a while.360 has more memory and graphics bandwidth, has superior vertex shading and so on. Situation may change when devs will start utilizing for graphics this 3 times more powerful Cell... But right now, for example, MLB 2k7 on 360 shits on PS3 version. 360 version has self-shadowing, 3D grass and better textures and presumably better framerate (I didn't see videos in person).

Its not just the lighting, its the grass and the clothes, the game looks awesome.

its not even HD...is it?

Anyway...FEAR is an old game no matter how much next-gen graphics is put in it, its still old and I rather wait for better FPS games to come out, which it is coming out.

IMO i though fear was over hyped dragged out and pretty much boring, mind you i thought half life 2 was as dull as a wet plank, suppose that just aint my cup of tea :D

yeah, Condemned was a freaking awesome game.
I loved it especially in the end...that was there when the entire next-gen kicked in.
Not gonna spoil it, all I can say is...fire/flame effect and lightning came to life that it was scary to walk around.

I predicted that FEAR would look like shit on PS3. in all the comparisons, PS3 cannot handle the dynamic range lighting, and FEAR/condemned are very dark games.

FEAR has some of the most addictive gameplay i've ever seen. Great port.

Give me a sequel to condemned please:)

This WAS just a terrible port anyway, but for some odd reasons developers just don't seem to be coming to grips with the PS3's hardware. Atleast multiplatform devs don't appear to be.

Blue Dragon is an unimaginative JRPG featuring a myriad of JRPG cliches and very redundant looking characters. To even call this game "original" in any way is an insult to every great JRPG made.......all 4 of 'em......

Yup, exactly. The PS3 should definitly be capable of handling FEAR's lighting engine. Both console versions are pretty poor, imo, compared to the PC version anyway. But as Panzer mentioned, the game is definitly worth playing.

Still need to get that expansion pack.

It does seem multiplatform devs. are struggling with the platform, atleast for now. Could be worse I guess, atleast they've mostly missed out on last-generation port-ups.

true. i get the feeling you own a PS3. obviously there's some games that need to be played, eg MGS. but until they release a sub £200 PS3 without that waste of space, time and money bluray, i won't even consider getting one.
