I'm a bit confused now, so if you have a magic character how can you select which spell you want them to cast or cant you?

And this is the whole point of all our worries.

If All I get to do for each party is pressing attack without having any control over what type of attack or skill or healing/attack magic they are going to be used then it's really disappointing. It seems we might have to set it up in the menu, i.e. assign a single attack type for each character and that's the one that will be executed......

Anyway, we still dont know exactly how it's going to work. I am off to see that gameplay video again. The recent trailer showed some very impressive element based attacks for the main character so I am sure he'll have plenty of skills/magic options ..... I seriously need more info.

Yes it could work like that, so you go to the party menu and select an attack or spell to be used by each party member, then go back to the fight arena and issue the party attack command, you then watch and see how the attacks panout, and then for your next turn go back to the party menu and change the individual party members attacks/spells then rinse and repeat? now that i could live with.

I dont think so?, but all the sites seem to indicate that they were only playing with the basic combat controls, so i'm thinking it gets allot deeper?

Sweet, Thanks but my god, I still cant make sense of what's being done in the menus though ............

There seem to be four options in the menu and you can switch the commands at each horizontally with a little info appearing at the bottom right corner. Now I presume say, the first one is attack and when you press left and right < > you select what type of attack or something. same thing applies to all othe remaining options which could be magic, defend or I dont know what ......... I seriously need to see a tutorial soon .... I am very curious to see how it all works.

Just watched the guided tour, this is now on my definate buy list. It looks amazing, it runs well, loading is quick. All the technical issues that i thought may be present in some shape or form are non existant and best of all the city looked really vibrant.

This title went from being somewhat interesting to not interesting at all thanks to those gameplay videos, it went from being non-strategic to a just action time game..... And I hate those, it's boring to hell just wait to click a single button then and then and watch sideshows.

Thanks but this game isn't worth a nickel anymore. I cannot see the hype at all, I'm soooo terrible disappointed there is no word for it.

What I got from the combat system is that at the VERY start of the fight, you select formation and from there on at random times you get to bush 'ONE' button, and then watch the characters play for themselves... the JOY....

Go read the hands-on, near enough all them state that they only got to play with the basic combat controls in the demo section they played, and that the stratagy and combat get very deep.

MugiMugi, the combat won;t be like that, square knows better. A one button combat system just won't be enough to float ANY rpg of ANY length nevermind a square rpg.
There will be more to it, just i don't think they were showing anything beyond the early parts of the game against monsters that pose no threat.

Ok I get it now. 4 Unions on the left and the menu on the right show the different action for all members of the union and you switch horizontally the type of attack each member of the union should do ... THIS IS GOOD!!!!!!
