I have expressed my concerns in depth, a bunch.

1) Outsourced to Dimps--this isn't the Capcom we used to know.
2) Produced by a man whose experience in the franchise is limited to Capcom Fighting Jam (nuff said).
3) Moves and animates in a clunky, 3D fashion. It looks like SFEX.
4) The new character designs are awful.
5) Throwing away mechanics from previous titles in favor of easier, more accessible gameplay.
6) Cashing in on the franchise name, despite not being the sequel it should be.
7) It's not Street Fighter 4.

There.. that's a good start. I could go on if you want though. It might be good, but it's not the sequel that a lot of hardcore fans have been begging for for years. This game is being made for and marketed to people who haven't touched Street Fighter since SF2 on their SNES. The name is basically an insult. This isn't SF4, this is some kind of wacky spin-off series and should be designated with such a title. This is marketing at its worst--and we'll see SF5 before you know it.

The worst thing about this game is the jumping.

I agree it does look like EX but I think it will be a much better game than that, while it definately wont be the best, I still believe it will be pretty good and worth a future purchase.

Off screen arcade videos on youtube are more impressive, it shows how the game really plays, it doesnt look bad at all.

p.s. I really dont like KOF games so SSFIITHDR FTW!

SSFIITHDR FTW!

I'm not buying SSFIITHD--I already own like, a million editions of that game and the new sprites look like ass. And while I generally enjoy Capcom's fighters more (well, with a few, fine exceptions like MOTW), there are easily several SNK fighters that are much better than SF2.

Plus, you can't beat those sexy 720p sprites.

Fair enough, I'll take your word for it, you're a way more hardcore street fighter fan than I am. I, too, had problems with the animation and the wacky characters at the beginning but I have come to accept it after a while. Let's hope for the best, yo never know, it miht turn out to be a good game.

A little bit of that's just playing devil's advocate. I'm excited too. I want it to be good, don't let my tone fool you. Another thing that I've said previously, which is promising, is that despite the change in direction that the franchise is taking, Capcom seems to be listening carefully to the feedback that they received during the open play tests. I'm hopeful that they'll take fan feedback into heavy consideration, and that this will turn out to be the best SF4 it can be in this form.

I'm just still a bit "on the fence" about some of this stuff.. it's certainly not the SF4 I would have asked for, but beggars can't be choosers, right?

I'm not half the SF fan I used to be.. I still love the franchise but I haven't even touched a fighting game (outside of a few rounds of Third Strike in celebration of SF4's announcement) in the last year. I've been way too busy.. and when I'm not, I'm still playing COD4.

I'm still more impressed with KOFXII, but there's room for both franchises in my life still.

Diago doing his thing. Seeing this has created a new found confidence in DIMPS, for me, at least. I'm still not expecting to enjoy this as much as Third Strike or CVS2 (personally!), but seeing pro players get into it this early in the game is so promising, and they know how to make it move like a real fighter!

Yeah, he's using focus moves as a sort of parry. It's not quite as fast, and it uses (replenishable) energy, but it still seems pretty effective. He's doing some pretty interesting stuff, I don't know the game system well enough to dissect it all yet, but it's intriguing.

I didn't see anything special on that SFIV video, at least nothing that would remotely turn me from a non-believer to a believer. That doesn't mean I don't like it, but it seems to me like if I did a random video with Daigo on the video title you would turn into a believer..........

Speak for yourself. That's the first time I've seen anyone actually putting SF4 through its paces. He uses a variety of combos, uses the focus system in ways I had yet to see, and has a pretty powerful mix up game.

I suspect we'll see him place in its first year at Evo--think you could do the same?

Ono just announced during his ComicCon talk that Cammy won the SF4 fan vote, but didnt guarantee she would be in game.... he said he would be going back to talk about adding her with the development team.

However, in the ending SF4 anime clip he showed, Cammy made an appearance. It makes it easier to assume she will show up in the console version, since one would guess they wouldnt go through the pain of making an entire section of the anime in the SF4 universe only to cut her out.

...I hope that doesn't mean we won't get Dan, Sakura, Ibuki, etc. :(

Then again, if I could only have one, it would have been Cammy anyway. <3

edit: Oops, I guess Dan was already confirmed a while back.. as well as Fei Long (note: not Lei Fang :P). I'm still not sure what the future holds for Ibuki and Sakura. I would love to see additional SF3 characters as well (Alex, Makoto, Yun/Yang). No MICROTRANSACTIONS PLZ.
