Must say i have a really hard time seeing what about it is reminiscent of FF8, but it looks alright i guess...a bit bland perhaps, and my previous faith in Tri-ace for making unique an fun games has been totally obliterated this generation so yeah. won't exactly be too much faith in this one :)

They estimate an fall 2009 release, It's a game for both Xbox 360 and PS3, no clue if they aim to release it outside the country by that time.

In any event, the biggest news with this title thought, they scrapped Square as there publisher and vent for Sega.

Looks more like a cross between DOA and FF13 versus artistically.

Also looks to be less colourful and more dark than their normal stuff, will keep my eye on it, hopefully we will get a video at E3.

How many japanese games or anime has males that are not androgynous ladyboys at all? It's not that it's a bad joke, it's just largely part of the aesthetic :P

And in all honesty, after watching 60 episodes of Hokuto no Ken, where all men are insanely manly with muscles bulging all over the place and necks that make Marcus Fenix look like a pussy, the ladyboy-thing don't look half bad :)

is there some sort of unwritten law that says all male lead character have to looks like a female? i dont expect gears of war roid users. but christ all mighty, give the guy a square jaw at LEAST.

It's a good time to be an RPG fan. I've been so busy with crap that since getting Star Ocean 4, I haven't even gotten the time to open it and play the damn thing lol.

Anyone notice a pattern with tri-ace and how they name some of their titles?

Looks pretty cool IMO, at least as far as art design goes. I really hope that this one turns out well because the latest Tri Ace rpg have been quite underwhelming. IU it is really meh and SO while the combat system is nice the story sucks a bit IMO.

It's completely different than gears even though it's darker. Gears uses different intensity levels of literally the same color. this one is different. I am not going to try and convince you otherwise, this is a matter of tastes and tastes are different. my problem is not with gears, it's with UE3 which makes all games look similar.
