Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

Since 7558 DaysThe teams that work on the splinter cell series have always done an astonishing job with the visuals so my guess is yes. I think they are real.

Since 7529 DaysI think it has become obvious that pictures are not doing these games any justice. The only pic that doesn't strike me as truly next-gen is the final pic in the silo and possibly the one on the stairs, everything else looks incredible.
Since 7469 DaysAt any rate the 360 version will have quite a couple different aspects to it thant he current gen versions. There will be daytime levels in the 360 version of the game the way environments are built will be on a much larger scale and there are gadgets and or weapons that are specific only to the 360 version of the game said by ubisoft themselves.
Same core game, but the 360 has a whole host of extra people wont experience in the xbox or ps2 version of the game.

Since 7592 DaysGamecloud - What sort of graphical improvements are being made for this fourth installment of the game?
Daniel Roy - By bringing the Chaos Theory engine to the X360, we’re unleashing a very lean and mean engine on next-gen hardware. Our environments are massive now, and some are in broad daylight. Also, we have a variety of environmental effects affecting visibility: such as a snow storm or a dust cloud.
BUTTTTT..............................
check this out
Gamecloud - This will be the first Splinter Cell game for a next-gen console. What additional graphical features and additions will be made for this version of the game.
Daniel Roy - Again, missions are totally originally designed for the X360. One mission, for instance, starts on the top of a 5-star hotel in Shanghai… You can actually see the skyline around you for miles ahead, including boats moving on the river. This type of graphical ambition would not have been possible if we had started with a XBOX design then ‘upgraded’ it to X360… We had to start on X360 from scratch.

Since 7547 Days--
Ok, maybe I am being a little too hard. The game looks good and clean -- HD, high res textures, some nice lighting in areas. And they probably are not using the Xbox1 engine, but the SM3.0 engine that appeared last year. That said it is still a multi-platform release using an old engine.
Think HL2. HL2 is a DX7 game. Crank it down to DX7 and check it out--looks good, just missing all the bells and whistles. Slap on these nice effects--that really look nice but don't impact gameplay nor are they really "base" technologies in whcih the art is built/designed around--and walla!
Basically it looks like a high end PC game. Not bad mind you, but this is the 360--it is closed box and not constrained by the laggers with GF4 Ti4200 GPUs!
As MS said last year: It is up to MS to lead developers. They did a good job with PGR3 of raising the bar. GRAW, from UBI, looks to be another title that aims for a high standard. FRN3, graphically, from EA likewise attacked it.
So it will happen, but I think what most are seeing is that we wont be seeing "next gen" until late 2006, and no console dedicated games until 2007. I have heard this from developers themselves, I have been saying it for a while. Fiscally, if you read the Publishers reports, they don't expect to fully transition to Next Gen until 2007.
Basically we get NICE upgraded titles plus a few real gems in there that impress. Better something than nothing, but I will be glad when we read,
"We did our first title for the 360 launch window and really got to see what the hardware did. After we got the title out we spent a couple months really pushing the dev kit seeing where the bottlenecks were. Our lead programmers got up a basic rendering and animation system, made target specs, we then produced some art boards for art direction for the engine we were to build and THEN we began developing the game... it took us 24+ months to get it done, but we really hit the 360 hard".
That sounds much better than "Remember guys, this is a multi generational, multi console port. They are doing a lot of custom work to it but underneath the frame is the same as all the others. "
That said graphics are only 1 equation in a game. I am not sure many of us will complain with a high end PC looking game that ROCKS in gameplay. :D
