2009-06-03 11:14:16 Buffering and slow dl speeds of various vids

Im not bashing gamersyde here but exploring different avenues in order to pin point why my bloody 50meg BB connection with Virgin is so diabollically slow!

I just want to know how long it's taking you guys to buffer a video, for me it's taking ages then it will stop for like a minute+ to buffer again! I have also tried dl'ing the Uncharted 2 vid and that was dl'ing at around 140kbps!

So is it my connection or is it due to gamesyde getting hammered for their juicy e3 vids?

Depends what mirror you get the files from, some i was maxin my 16meg, some were crawlin at 140k. Please remember, everyone from all over the world is usin this site as a source of vids right now, not just the regular users, plus the shear amount of content up there means the servers are being stretched to their limits. It's E3, happened the same last year and the year before.

Yeah that's what i mentioned Tom and that's why im trying to root down the problem ;)

Tbh i think it's my connection, just tried dl'ing another video file that has nothing to do with e3 etc and it was crawling along!

Best way to check is speedtest.net or use a good newsgroups server, thats what i do when i think something is fishy (had a lamp interfear with my ethernet through power connection before).

Keep in mind that our servers are very overloaded with E3 right now.
