Here we are at the end of another year of fantastic gaming. Though I have not done much gaming myself (trying to catch up with all those great games now), it just didnt feel right to leave this 3-year running tradition aside, so here we are again:

Ladies and gents of Gamersyde. Welcome to the 2011 Edition of Gamersyders Top Games!

This is the Fourth year we are running this and I hopefully intend to keep the tradition alive for as long as I am able to. Here are the three threads from the past 3 years:

So,

THE RULES OF THE VOTING for this year are:

[01] - List up to 5 (5 is the maximum) games that you have played this year regardless of platform from 1 to 5. The First being, obviously, your game of the year. The first game on the list will get 5 points, the second will get 4 points and so on... If you have played less than 5 games, that's fine, just list 4 or 3.... The minimum would of course have to be at least one game.

[02] - To ensure a good representation of the forum's opinion, please list only the games you have completed. Voting for a game you haven't finished just isnt right!

[03] - Games eligible to be in the list are only those released between Jan 1st - Dec 31st 2010 in your territory.

[04] - Voting will remain OPEN until JANUARY 15th 2012

I do realise that it's quite early to be asking you to list your top games now as most of you play the majority of their games towards the end of the year but you DON'T Have to do it right now, I created this topic just as a head's up to you all and to give you as much time as possible to think about your choices!

Uncharted 3: everything i want from a game, great characters and sense of adventure, please i hope Tomb raider follows this path (but with more puzzles..)
Skyrim: I rate uncharted higher due to it been a smoother experience for the end user, it had its issues (aiming) but no where near Skyrims..fuck me its good though.
Halo CEA: this WOULD of been top of the list if say .. i dunno.. the MP was there? 6 dodgy maps does not make MP, it makes a sampler.
Portal 2:nothing needs to be said here.
Dead Island: fucking awesome.

1 - Uncharted 3 - Matched and in some areas surpassed U2, something i didnt think was even possible. loved it
2 - Dark Souls - i still prefer the "world 1-1" approach to demon's souls, but this is an amazing game that sits right next to it. better then skyrim :)
3 - Infamous 2 - the only open world game i seem to still enjoy. fun, fluid gameplay, bigger, more "epic" boss fights, more variety, more powers. what a sequel should be
4 - Deus Ex - a true return to form after IW, still not quite as good as the original, both in terms of options or story, but this game did choice based action RPG gameplay better then most. boss fights let the game down a bit tho.
5 - Portal 2 - amazing experience, funny characters, the same fun mind bending gameplay, but refined and improved upon. easier then the first, and absolutely no replayability prevents it from placing higher in the list.

honorable mention -

motorstorm apocolypse - only racer i enjoyed
resistance 3 - my fave single player FPS experience this year, crappy ending tho
battlefield 3 - would have made my list if it wasnt for the broken mics (which are still broken) and shoddy first month

damn this is gonna be tough!

1.) Deus Ex Human Revolution PC - game kinda falls apart in the end but it's still my GOTY. I need to install and play the missing link ASAP

2.) Witcher 2 PC - Vastly improved over Witcher 1, this game had some of the most memorable towns in a RPG

3.) Battlefield 3 PC - The new map pack is awesome! Karkand is really an awesome map

4.) Uncharted 3 - Love this series, beat it on crushing

5.) Infamous 2 - I just love this series, best open world game this gen along with Red Faction Guerilla PC

Also loved Metro 2033, Resident Evil 4 HD, Uncharted 2 etc but those games are very old :P I don't think I played a bad game this year. Still have to install & play Dead Space 2 and Portal 2 though.

Most forgettable experience: Crysis 2!! But hey at least the multiplayer was good

Unfortunately I have only 'completed' 2 games this year (although you can't exactly complete either of these games)... which is pretty tragic. I'm hoping to get Arkham City for Christmas so we'll see how that matches up. But anyhooooo:

1. Skyrim - Has its flaws, has its quirks, but I still love it. Sunk 50 hours into it and don't plan on stopping any time soon! The exploration, the immersion, the atmosphere, top notch. It really feels like a world that has been crafted down to every detail.

2. FIFA 12 - I have to be honest and say that I'm tempted to have this as number one... it is really close. The most incredible thing about this game is that I've only played online, have sunk about 50 hours into it, and still find it incredibly fun. For a sports game that's pretty amazing.

Man I got to get to work on Darks Souls then. Goddamn Gwyn, he is so hard :P

Really, what you should have done was start a discussion thread and then later a sepparate thread for actual voting, because i think people need to remind eachother what titles we actually played this year. I mean i got a few suggestions for what to put on my list from just reading already :)

Well i was just thinking it might be a bit more convenient. I like this list thing, it's fun, so i tried to contribute to a smoother solution than wading thorugh edited and reposted lists ^^

LA Noire / Skyrim / Batman AC / Halo CE / Gears3

This was a lot of fun last year. I haven't finished Rayman Origins or Batman AC yet, so I can't make a proper list YET.

Also, for people who're mentioning Skyrim, how have you finished it already?! CRAZY

i have played enough of the side quests to judge what the rest will be like and the main story was... short, but overall experience and sense of adventure is outstanding.

So many gbane I havent play this year. I will vote by the end of the voting period

Batman AC has become not just GOTY for me but one of the best games ever created alongside Bayonetta, Ocarina of Time, Halo.

The only flaw I found in the game was not being able to use the suits whenever I wanted but now with that cheat we can.

Pretty hard (or easy infact) for me this year since I haven't played a lot of games.. This top 5 is bassicly all I played this year excluding maybe Pinball FX on Xbox 360 and the goodold Company of Heroes on PC, lol..

Hey it's not best of 2010 you know (Red Dead), let alone 2008 when Flatout was released, lol :D
