I want to chime in on a few things here.. but it's impossible to do multiple quotes on this version of Opera mini. I'll save it for when I get home.

The idea that bungie could drop features in favor of graphics and please both the critics and the masses though is way off the mark.

Yup, If a game gets 10 in Edge, you better believe its going to be pretty dam special!

IN the history of Edge magazine, they have only given five games 10/10, only Super Mario 64, Gran Turismo, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Halo: Combat Evolved, Half-Life 2 have gotten 10.

I'd just like to point out that this and this are the real jungly environments. Most of the screens from Edge atleast, seem to be of Silent (Tsavo?) Highway, which is desert and industrial complexes (or at least seems to be).

What makes you think every comment I make in a post is directed at you? I addressed two points from your post about graphics directly, with the respective quotes and then in a NEW paragraph separated by TWO lines I made some more general comments. Did I quote YOU as saying the "failed to deliver?" No.

Conveniently you've completely glossed over the discussion about vegetation. You said there was hardly any whereby there are plenty of shots, and I'm telling you from direct hands on experience, there is.

Of course I should find better things to do than try and share some impressions and qualified discussion of the game here as clearly I'm not focusing and wasting your time.

well personally im not too bothered about the graphics, as long as they are pretty and next gen, they dont have to be groundbreaking.

allthough after playing f.e.a.r, the darkness and my next game before halo 3 will be bioshock, i think halo 3s bright graphics style will be georgeous in comparison.

but graphics aside, what i really want from halo 3 is a LONG campaign, and i dont want one of the levels in the list AKA halo 2 to actually be a cut scene and quick training what a cheat! and i dont want half the game to feel 'wasted' on playing as the arbitur AKA halo 2, and i dont want boring cramped levels AKA halo 2,

heres what i DO want from halo 3.

- replay value.
with halo 1 after most of the levels, (except the liberey!!) i thought 'dam i cant wait to play that level again!!' AKA assult on the control room!!! and scilent cartogapher and the earth levels on halo 2

- do it how you want
i want to be able to play the level how i want to!!!
i heard in halo 3 u will sit on the pelican gun,
well theres one thing i REALLY HATE in games and that is when u have to sit in a helicopter (GRAW2) and shoot things its so boring!!
i want to drive the dam pelican!!!or shoot, or not use it at all get some other transport, i want choice!!

- open battles, AI kills things too
i do not want to think while p[laying the game this:
"come on marines, kill em!!...oh wait...nothings dieing, oh yeah dam im in a video game i guess its designed that im suppose to kill everything on the screen"

come on!!! marines have been USELESS in halo 1 and 2.
i want intelligent allies that fear for there lives infront of all these aliens on our planet!!and that there are lots of them so it really feels like an epic battle.
3 or 4 marines and a spartan is not enough if it happend in real life

the e3 07 trailer showed a marine get thrown up and kicked by a brute
and when i saw that i laughed because it looked so klunky and robotic!!!
and as the brute stepped forward after you could clearly see him still in the animation of kicking a marine process like a robot, then once he has completed the animation cycle and only then, he can start moving again.
reminded me of a wrestling game animation!!!

STORY!---
i want a story that is easy to follow
no more gravmind or silly monsters!!!
i want a proper story like a film story, one that flows, one that you always know what your goal is in each level, one that builds up with twists that make you go oooooooo, and lets not hope its a twist like 'now master chief in level 1 has been eaten by gravemind, you play as a brute'

and the little things like when cortana is trying to tell you something important, please dont let things attack you and makes lots of noise so you cant hear what shes saying!!!
(happend a few times to me before)

hmmm...maybe im asking too much.
anyway,
whether i get what i want or not, halo 3 is going to be a dam good game if its anything like 1 and 2 :)

This is awesome! They finally got the flamethrower to work =]
It should look absolutely insane when fired, sad they showed nothing.

Also cool that they added a new grenade. I suppose it's a more refined Molotov Cocktail.

The new weekly update isn't up yet due to to Frankie answering some questions from HBO this morning.

Flamethrower = illegal weapon of war for decades, but it's back in the future! Not exactly realistic.. but still cool :) Likewise, firebombs are cool too.. I was really expecting smoke though.
