I bought SFIV, and that will be my only fighting game for the rest of the generation. Thank you. Wish I could remember where I was in P4 though. Restarting is not something I want to do.

Alright! Been quiet for a while but not from a lack of (nonsensical and pointless) updates to M7, but from the rather dire games drought and me giving up on a record breaking two games in a row. There just is no saving Far Cry 2 from its mind numbing dullness, and Pure being a single player game I ran out of steam almost instantly. No amount of tricking off my couch granted me the boost power to push on in that - otherwise very competent - racing game when Motorstorm 2 fills its shoes and an extra pair of boots to.. er.. boot.

AnyhooooOOO!! Updates, yes. There's been a crazy onslaught of XBLA and PSN titles of delicious quality and I've been busy trucking through them all (trucking sounds boring but this was happy trucking) and Opinions are gonna come shooting out of me like tennis balls from those.. machines that... you know.. don't write reviews but.. shoot.. balls.. for tennising.

So down to the dirty then. Dominic played lots and lots of what he reckons to be a great game of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and used modern technology to add his views on it to the digital annals of history in this Opinion.

I on the other hand spent my time with something much more immediate, exploding my way through the surprise hit (well it hit me by surprise at any rate) Splosion Man, of which I did done an Opinion aswell.

If all goes according to plan there will be two more this week. First, Dominic will be clearing the gunsmoke to, subjectively at least, reveal the quality of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, and I will follow that up chilling with the electro beat powered PSN brilliance, Shatter.

Games on the CreamWatch for august are a record low three titles and consist of King of Fighters XII (having been pushed back for europe), Phantom Brave: We Meet Again and the disappointing Turtles in Time remake. We.. weren't disappointed by it back when we added it to the CreamWatch obviously.

So wham, there it is! I'm working on a few cosmetic changes behind the scenes, aswell as some functionality changes that might finally enable us to post our riveting, in-depth articles that mostly involve rambling on about things you don't really need to know any concrete facts to write about. So that'll be fun! Eventually!

I still just think it's a fantastic game though. I think it strikes the absolute best balance between depth and accessibility that I've ever seen.. that goes for the franchise as a whole though.
Just wish they'd balance the characters a bit more, eh?

The fighter renaissance has both it's ups and downs. A new game from Arc Systemworks is great but more people being interested in the genre is kind of a double edged sword. Most of the new players are artards. I imagine that there will just be SO many idiots playing Tekken online in october, thinking that they are gods because they learned a 10-hit combo. A parry, launch and juggle later they'll be calling you a cheater and rage quitting.

The opinion band-aids are a nice touch.

Were those always there or have I been absent too long?
(was I ever present?... that's for another thread)

They were there on the other design aswell but no, they haven't been there for long. Content wise the site has suffered some lately because I've mainly been working on getting stuff like the recent comments javascript to work. I am such a newbie at this it's incredible that the site doesn't fall apart at the seams.

But yeah, lack of content = lack of updates about updates here, subesequent non-visits. Not too surprising really. :)

With the new categories and ability to add separate pages (sounds simple I know) there'll be more articles though, so it won't just be a glorified games diary. Oh and comics are coming back aswell, can't wait to start biting into that.

ah sweet, comics.

Don't worry about the fancy stuff. It's better you implement it as you understand it, rather than implement everything and take 15 classes to straighten it all out.

Yeah exactly. I could probably just rip chunks out of other sites and stuff them in there, but I'm trying to understand what I'm doing, too, like you say. Not only does it make it easier to get it the way I want it, but it also means that if something goes belly up I'll know why. Ideally.

I'm still very much struggling with reviews. It's something about their structure that I feel uncomfortable adhering to, so while it was meant to be up yesterday, I kept working on it some more and it's up today.

Opinion: Shadow Complex

I'm trying to improve as a reviewer, but in the meantime at least my sentiments will come across, aswell as my hearty recommendation.

Well it's been ages since I updated this so I'll just make it a neat list of the more notable things. Things appear in no particular order - importance, relevance nor appeal.

In terms of Opinions...
Dominic plays, kinda likes fighting dudes in STAR OCEAN: THE LAST HOPE
Simon drops alongside orbital shock troopers and is Bladerunner-esquely engrossed in HALO 3: ODST
Simon then drops again, this time into high octane adventure in UNCHARTED 2: AMONG THIEVES

Comics are kicked off with;
UNCHARITABLE MORALS

Daring Missions are enbarked on!
Dominic's been to the LEEDS EG EXPO 2009

The PSP has been talked about in dense, daunting, exhausting length by Simon in...
PSP RISING: PART 1 - Dis/Interesting!
PSP RISING: PART 2 - Digital Retribution? (Warning, this is too long and offputting for most sentient life)

And lastly, a bit off the record;
Simon contains his girly giggles and chips about Forza 3
Ninja Gaiden 2 virgin Dominic heads right for Sigma 2 and enjoys it!
