Hey guys,
Proud to announce patch will be out in just over 16 hours (2 AM PST) per Microsoft on XBOX 360.

We are waiting for Sony to greenlight PS3 patch, but we got approval this morning from Microsoft and are ready to push it out. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Ronnie

Why didn't you just amend your last NBA2k10 thread?
It was basically a thread about the patch anyway...

Crap, sorry, I figured with the patch now out, it deserved a fresh thread that contained only impressions of the game since the patch.

To make this simple, the game is much improved. There were a lot of inside shots before the patch that you could get away with, without initiating any kind of contact, but now, contact is initiated in a far more realistic fashion and it makes the game all the more impressive. It's amazing how big a difference just that subtle change has made to the overall gameplay.

Anybody that played it before the patch, will instantly notice the amazing fluidity that is now there in pretty much every aspect of the gameplay. Everything looks more natural, it even looks like animations may have been added, or maybe I have that impression simply because of how incredibly fast the game now runs. The game now runs at an absolutely flawless performance clip. I would say a consistently locked 60 fps.

How fast? Well, the game, BEFORE the patch, the moments when I thought there were no performance issues and everything was great, until performance hiccups showed up later to hurt the experience? Well, the game with the patch, is now far (and I do mean far, far) faster than it was when I felt that there weren't any performance issues in the game before the patch. So, the performance has improved to such a degree that I would now consider moments where I use to feel the performance was great before, to be unacceptable, now that I can compare it to the performance after this patch. A placebo this patch is not, it's how the game should have been released.

I've also noticed a number of really cool presentation improvements that are probably too much to go into, but the patch is incredible. If you were holding off before, there's no need to do so now.

I'm not going to lie, this game doesn't even feel like it belongs in this generation. The incredibly realistic way in which contact is initiated during all kinds of different plays (The physical contact wasn't anywhere quite as impressive before the patch) and the sheer quality of basketball possible in this game is really something else.

For example, I'm seeing some really cool dribble animations and subtle nuances in how the players handle themselves on the court that sure as hell weren't there before the patch, and I played this game like crazy. Pretty amazing what they've managed to do with this game. They could pass this thing off as a next generation console basketball game, and I'd easily believe it.

Anybody playing this thing, or has tried the game for an extended period of time prior to the patch, should easily spot the differences. Contact felt far more like a game prior to the patch, whereas, after the patch, you feel like there's not a single shot or dunk you can't stop, if you play it right, it's really cool.

There's other really cool things that people can spot, like try dribbling and really experimenting with left and right movements in an attempt to shake your opponent as you hit the right or left trigger, and look at some of the unbelievable stuff that happens.

I'm also noticing the toned shooting percentages for the first time. The shots and misses, while I had gotten use to it, seems much more realistic.

This game before the patch, and after the patch, aren't the same game in my view. Ther's that big a difference.

The game is something incredible man. I'm, quite frankly, blown away.

If this patch was out as of the game's review, the scores would be through the roof.
