2008-12-03 01:32:04 That totally suck man!!. I bought mine on launch day so I hope I`m covered if anything goes wrong. Although Microsoft have taken alot of flack regarding the RROD, at least they treat people better than Sony do!!. |

2008-12-08 21:21:59 Well its sucks but Sony have always been assholes when it comes to faulty products (the good thing is that their products don't break that often), as with most products though after the warrenty runs out its up to you to get it fixed. --- |

2008-12-11 17:35:51 In reply to Jollipop (2008-12-08 21:21:59) It's worth adding that MS only fix our consoles for free because they know their product is at fault and they don't want to see a huge legal battle to pay out to its consumers.[/quote] |

2008-12-13 06:12:56 No but MS changed their hardware policy after so many consoles became faulty, before hand they had the same policy as Sony. --- |

2009-01-01 16:19:00 Finally I've decided to buy a new PS3 (it appears that was some problem with the mainboard I've read on an another forum that this is a "common" problem amongst 60gig PS3's, and they seem to die one and a half year after purchase) Anyone has the 80gig model here? What are the experiences with that? Just asking because I'm a little worried lol.. |

2009-01-02 02:11:52 In reply to Viginti_Tres (2009-01-02 01:06:31) The 2 years in the EU has nothing to do with MS, it has to do with EU LAWS for consumer rights for general electrical products. --- |

I really want a bluray player and Killzone2 so if anyone can chime in, please do. |

2009-01-03 02:20:05 And another thing. I'll check if my PS3s hard drive is still functioning. And if it does, what can I do to backup my saved games? Is there a program for reading the PS3's file system on PC? Because I really really need them. |

I don't think this problem is all that serious though, not atm anyway. I don't think the signals are as alarming as they've been (and are still) with the 360, it's definitely not going to hold me back on a PS3 purchase. I will however keep an eye on this as I'm looking to buy another PS3 maybe next year, after selling mine last year. But, untill I see some more alarming reports, I don't think it's a valid reason not to go for a PS3. --- |

2009-01-20 18:52:08 In reply to Viginti_Tres (2009-01-02 01:06:31) Posted by Viginti_Tres That may be true for the US where the warranty is just a few weeks, but the warranty was 2 years right from the start here in europe, they just extended it to 3 years for the ROD. So yes their customer care is the best I've experienced yet, and that was long before they admited they were at fault. Don't think they are giving you a better service out of the goodness of their hearts they are forced to do this otherwise they could be taken to court over it. --- |
