2008-05-01 12:55:46 Just read that preview, awesome shit, love the ideas they have exposed to us, but I want to see it in motion! "However, they did raise their eyebrows a bit at the new, stylised artistic direction. They were worried the Americans wouldn't like it. There were many discussions, but they never said no to us." Just because Americans wouldn't like it doesnt mean you have to scratch it. If it looks beautiful to look at and it looks unique and stylized go with it, that didn't stop Okami. Somethings are better to give a change (if it works), and considering that this new Prince of Persia doesn't have to do with anything with Sands of Time trilogy it is a good excuse to say "let's go wild and unique", and by the images I have seen it looks great. But I don't understand why it is still called "Prince of Persia" if there is a new character and this character doesn't have anything to do within the Sands of Time trilogy. --- |

2008-05-01 13:57:26 In reply to Sath (2008-05-01 12:55:46) The comment in regards to americans is an estimate and stereotype of americans generally being suspicious towards more cartoony and stylized things, because over there cartoons are still decidedly for kids. America is - it goes without saying - a huge market, but last time they tried to swoon that audience with blood, darkness and emo they pretty much pissed off their entire worldwide fanbase. Even though Warrior Within sold much better than Sands of Time (because people DO buy into blood and guts) they're returning to the more fantastical themes because they.. have a truckload of class really. |

2008-05-01 14:56:10 In reply to GriftGFX (2008-05-01 05:28:28) Posted by GriftGFX You've complained about the lack of platfomers this generation, and you don't care about one of the better platformer franchises from last generation? Come on now! Sands of Time was excellent, and the sequels weren't nearly as deserving of the harsh criticism they've received as some people might have you believe. Between this and the new Tomb Raider, I'll be in platform heaven :) Banjo 3 is a bit of a shining light in a very dark room for me, hopefully they don't screw that up. :S And i'm still hoping ND make a next gen Jak before they make the next crappy uncharted game, anyways getting off topic :P Can someone PM the link to the scans :D --- |

2008-05-08 16:38:49 Posting a video on a game you don't necessarily associate that with speedpainting. Guesswork is usually in the realm of trailers or videos of said game. |

2008-05-24 16:31:48 New Update - May 24th 2008 The new Prince of Persia feels in every way a successor to Sands of Time. Despite the numerous changes, Ubisoft Montreal managed to keep the essence of POP intact. While longtime Prince fans may have trouble adjusting to the new visual style and combat system, we think they'll come around. Once you see Prince in action, you'll get it. We'll have more on Prince of Persia and specifically Elika's role on Wednesday, May 28. --- |

2008-05-24 17:05:48 The frequent mentioning of Assassin's Creed in the preview brought my excitement down a bit. I pray that they're still going to have a focus on incredibly well thought out platforming sections. I really hope that even though it's an open world, that I'm not spending most of my time just getting from point A to point B before being able to start a mission or what have you. --- |

2008-05-24 22:42:07 I loved the gameplay for Assassin's Creed, hated the mission modes not being skipped and the non-skipable cutscenes. --- |
