Well, yesterday I called Xbox support once again after not getting a reply to my email. I explained the situation and my dissatisfaction and they told me I'd get a phone call today...which I did.

I'm getting a new Xbox 360 (as in: new) with a plug&play-kit for compensation (sort of). I had a choice between a few MS 360 games, wireless controller, wifi headset or the play&charge-kit.

Not too bad I guess. We'll see...

Mine is playing up, keeps freezing n shit, to be honest i dont care, if it dies for the erm 8th or 9th time i dont care i will just point at it and laugh, and carry on playing on my N64/ps3

And once you grease the N64 stick it's fantastic
Me and a mate just been on goldeneye and was actually able to still control it lol

While of subject just watched my mate play the dragonforce song on guitar hero 3 ...on expert, he is fantastic to watch...

Finally got a 360 back again, this time in mint condition. It's brand new actually...though it's still manufactured in 2006. :|

I for one won't even play with my 360 until next month when NG2 demo...if it dies on me...wow.
I hope it lasts years from now, atleast to 2009 would be great, don't want to loose NG2 action.
But if it does, I got Ps3 and some games for that to have fun with, starting next month with Haze.

Just got my 3rd RROD!! Fuck, fuck fuck!!!

I got it going again for now after a couple of powercycles...but it's just a matter of time before it really dies! The other times sucked badly, but now I have no warranty anymore.

Fucking MS with your shit-ass junk. Sad thing is, I'll probably buy a new one as soon as this one officially dies. Gonna do some research to make sure I get the right model. I believe there are several ways in telling from the box which is a Jasper, and which isn't. Anyone got any pointers on hand coincidentally?

Yeah. If you look through the little window on the box you should be able to see info about the amps. A jasper is 12.1

I had 4 360's die on me. So I recently went out and bought a Jasper arcade unit. Hopefully this one won't die.

Well, many of the games are awesome. ;)

Anyways, I got my Jasper Arcade unit. Didn't take long to find one really, the first one I checked was indeed a Jasper. Unfortunately, there was no way in telling without openig the box as they've "conveniently" placed the info on the amps outside the little 'window'. But with some explanation about my situation, there was no problem to have the box opened and checked out.

Guess I'm all set again for now, though according to that Eurogamer article it'll still go...eventually. Ah, nice hobby I've chosen! :P

Still on my 8th or 9th one, But not booted it in ages, last time i booted it was to check it still worked :) which it does, saving it for alan wake cant fricken WAIT!

I just thought I'd let y'all know that I finally joined the club. My Xbox was purchased in 2005 too, so it's far out of warranty. I actually wrapped it in a towel -- it worked!

I know that's no long term solution, but it's still sorta awesome/hilarious that it works.
