So it's time for an Uncharted 4 thread. Amazing game so far. Technically top notch with facial expressions out of this world. It also benefits greatly from "The Last of Us" in story-telling. Neil Duckmann should be kept very close.

Can't wait to see your screens in this thread, really like that photo-mode.

been playing since monday and reached chapter 10 last night and i'm loving it.

the intro isn't as bombastic as the previous games, but i think it works the best. it gives itself room to breath and lets you interact and establish sam as an integral character. the game is getting better and better as each chapter passes too as more mechanics are opened up for you to play with. i love how ingrained the rope/grapple hook is. i was worried it was going to be a gimmick, but it's a strong part of the main pillars of traversal. AI on hard is pretty devious too. they flank your ass if you stay still for too long.

just want to get home and play some more.

I think the first chapters equal a slow approach and I'm loving it - it all comes together from chapter 8 and 9 - Naughty Dog made all the right choices here. Loving the atmosphere and facial-expressions, the dialogues are among the best I've ever heard... witty and eloquent. Climbing is no Assassins Creed and shooting/covering is no Division, but the overall mix makes it one of the best games this generation...

Technically it's utterly impressive with vast landscapes - I really love it.

i feel the divisions cover shooting would be way too restricted in a game like this, too robotic. it needs to be scrappy and quick since you're constantly moving and rolling, and climbing... and for that i do prefer uncharted 4's cover and shooting (the new aiming and gun sounds are awesome too)

AC is hardly a pinnacle of platforming either imo (prince of persia SOT is though) AC is too automated. zero skill involved. granted there isn't much skill involved in uncharted's either, but there is at least some timing based stuff in there.

Man the character models in this game, especially the scene where Sam's breaking out of the prison (the 2nd time) are just out of this world. The light bouncing off that dudes face I kind of forgot it was a video game model. Only a couple of hours in right now, but I think I'm coming up on some kind of auction heist situation... have to go to work now, damn.

Finished this tonight. Loved it. Not only do i feel like its the best most coherent uncharted, i think its naughty dogs best in general. The world felt consistent, large and connected. And the story and characters were great. It didn't have the emotional gut punches or intimacy of last lf us, but i found the story more intriguing in general.

Combat feel perfect now, and your given a small but interesting and usable skillset to play around in these small combat arenas. Biggest plus point for me though was the traversal and "adventuring". Long stretches of nothing but exploration and world building. I also like that they didn't go the approach of making set peices bigger and bigger so they become a joke. They reeled it back in a bit, but it made for way better moments.

Graphically its phenomenal too. And puts everything else to shame really.

I'm going to play this again starting tomorrow i think.
