Was also thinking it could be an ATI driver thing, but you'd think by now any problems with Crysis would be resolved.

Maybe it's that crazy config Doom hooked you up with :P
I did a quick Google search and some people, though it was a couple years ago, switched to DX9, or lowered shadow detail, and got rid of what sounds like a similar problem.
It also ran like crap, so I think I'll reboot and see if that solves anything.

I had a youtube video on pause in a tab in firefox which OBLITERATED the performance in Crysis Warhead and caused all the weird glitches. I guess that could've been the issue I had that other time too, and a restart actually merely closed firefox for me to fix the problem. Weirrrrrd. But also great! Thought things were busted.
