The Elite controller is really awesome, using the long stick on the right, medium on the left [not when I made the pix though]. No paddles so far, need to get used to it first. Very precise, love the reduced triggers.

Here are some quick pix I made, before I used it the first time ;)

A chance to use my macro is always good practice. One of my lenses I get to use the least. It's great with tiny details and such.

@ Korn: yeah, it's tragic... that limited FOV is no help either...

Hololens can share Holographic info with other Hololens. Makes it possible for looking at the same Hologram at different positions. That's interesting though...

That was part of the early implementation. I kinda doubt consumers will ever see this version of HoloLens anyway.

I love augmented reality.. I just don't believe this has much to do with Xbox.

It has almost nothing to do with gaming applications. I think they hope for it (or some future version of it) to be used at hospitals and architectural engineering firms like a holographic autocad. There are real world applications for a device like this, but gaming? Probably just a proof of concept. Nobody is paying $3,000 for this to game on.

Well let's be real... the first consumer version of HoloLens is a ways off.

The Xbox One will be ancient history by the time it's a consumer product.

Well that much is obvious. lol I haven't yet received an invitation for my Hololens application, but I remain hopeful that I'll get an invite in one of the later group waves.

From what I've learned from what has started of the Hololens dev community (very humble but ambitious beginnings), Microsoft has ALOT of work left to do with this device. It simply can't be released to consumers in it's current form. It's clear that a tethered Hololens' FOV would be far greater than the portable/wearable prototype that Microsoft is releasing to the dev community. The battery barely lasts two and half hours and that is the major culprit right there.

If Microsoft is willing to sacrifice portability for a large FOV then Hololens becomes alot more affordable. If they stick to the wearable/mobile script, the consumer version of Hololens is much much further away. There's alot of energy hungry processors, sensors and cameras on the device. All of these limit the FOV.

It's will be interesting to see how this plays out because the community behind the device is charged and has alot of really brilliant app concepts in the works.

Today, I have some difficult changes to announce that affect some of our Microsoft Studios teams and projects in the UK and Denmark.

After much consideration we have decided to cease development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK. Additionally, we will close Press Play Studios in Denmark, and sunset development on Project Knoxville.

These have been tough decisions and we have not made them lightly, nor are they a reflection on these development teams – we are incredibly fortunate to have the talent, creativity and commitment of the people at these studios. The Lionhead Studios team has delighted millions of fans with the Fable series over the past decade. Press Play imbued the industry with a unique creative spirit behind games like Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Kalimba, which both captured passionate fans. These changes are taking effect as Microsoft Studios continues to focus its investment and development on the games and franchises that fans find most exciting and want to play.

I speak for all of Xbox when I say that despite this news, we remain committed to the development communities in the UK and Europe, and Xbox will continue to support new IP and originality in the games we offer on our platforms, whether they’re AAA blockbusters like Quantum Break from Remedy, adventurous new IPs like Sea of Thieves from Rare, or unique new creations from independent developers like Moon Studios with Ori.

We have nothing but heart-felt thanks for the members of Lionhead and Press Play for their contributions to Xbox and gaming. We are committed to working closely with those affected by today’s news to find them new opportunities at Xbox, or partnering with the broader development community to help place them in jobs elsewhere in the games industry should they desire.
Fable legends cancelled. lionhead and press play closed. pretty shocking news.

Lionhead being canceled is fucking SAD and stunning. Unfortunately Fable Legends being canceled shouldn't surprise anyone who actually played the beta. It just didn't work as a game, the concept of playing the villain was all wrong and unattractive as a gameplaying element. I wanted to like the game because it was so beautiful and colorful, but it didn't expand on anything in the Fable Universe and it was a pointless dungeon crawler with little or no reward. There was next to no enthusiasm for it among even the most devoted Fable fans. And as a FTP experiment it failed.

Perhaps another studio will present Microsoft with a much more inspiring concept and pick up the franchise for future development. Still it blows that this studio couldn't be put on another 1st party project or it's talent absorbed into the rest of the MGS tent. Even as I acknowledge that the last 3 Fable games (3, Heroes and The Journey) and projects (Milo&Kate and Legends) were pretty bad and Peter Moleneux's pathological hype.................still it's very sad to see them go this way.

Microsoft may hobble together another start-up to take on Fable. They kill developers, not brands.

I wonder how many Bullfrog guys were still there.

Fable was the first game I followed the development of (Project Ego!). Religiously checking in on the forums and analysing every morsel of info. I learned not to do that afterwards. But I still love Fable.

I hope another team gets a crack at it. But I wonder if they could capture the same spirit.

Yup. Apparently it was a failed F2P experiment.

It's pretty hard to succeed there when you don't get to release your game though.

There wasn't much to Legends as it was. It's remained in development for 4 years and it only had 4 maps. JUST 4 FRIGGIN MAPS! And Lionhead STILL wasn't providing a launch date for it. So if you're Microsoft and you're looking at continued development costs, lack of gamer enthusiasm and the other games and projects that Lionhead has either failed to launch or failed commercially......................well, maybe you can't blame MGS. Lionhead was becoming a functioning money pit.

All Lionhead had to do was give Fable fans what we had been asking them for since 2011. If they had just given us a decent 4th game with a deep SP campaign they could have shoehorned the Legends cooperative multiplayer in and we would have received it better than just a stand alone FTP title.

And I suppose it's not lost on any of us that Lionhead made a history of NOT giving gamers what they wanted.

All of the Hololens Studios developing games have been merged and consolidated into one (no name for it yet) gaming house. So only three of those missing logos represent closed studios.
