Here at Gamersyde, saying we don't like April fool's jokes would be a dramatic understatement. Nevertheless, it would be even more foolish to skip this very nice (and weird) video of an imaginary cross-over between Metal Gear Solid 4 and Assassin's Creed, produced by Ubisoft and Konami themselves - especially knowing that besides the Altaïr joke, the video features real never seen before gameplay from Hideo Kojima's next game.

I got it today, at first i thought, hey this is pretty good, then it just went downhill, i mean, i can't even effing walk past guards without them attacking me, seriously wtf, so effing frustrating, all you want to do is kill someone and the crappy lock on barely works so they see you and bang, got 30 guys on your arse. God this is pissing me off.
Welcome to the joyful combat of Assassins Creed :p

Sheps gotta pay attention to what they told you at beginning of the game :)

Whenever the indicator starts flashing red and making that beeping noise which suggests you are likely to get attacked as they are extremely suspicious of you that is when you press the blend button and pretend to be a harmless monk.

You don't need to be with a group of monks for this to be effective. You can pretend to be a monk and then stealth assassinate the person in particular that appears to be suspicious of you or you can at least go about your business without worrying about being attacked. Effective use of blend alone will solve that problem you just spoke about. The indicator will still be red if you are in the vicinity of these enemies, but at least you wont be in imminent danger. When you are near guards that are really suspicious of you, you must appear as harmless as possible.

That isn't a negative on AC's part its a simple user error :) You ever wonder why when it was time to do your very first assassination the very moment you started to walk they attacked you? Because you weren't appearing as harmless as possible by pretending to be a monk. If you do that you'll actually be able to walk right up to your main assassination target as long as you don't make any suspicious movements.

Oh no, i played it all day mate :) i couldn't get one decent "Oh that was awesome" kill, i had to fight my way past the guards near everytime because they always seen me.

The particular one i was on about was the guy and the 4 executions with like 30 bodyguards, i tried to walk up the ladder but the stupid beggar girl would hassle me, so when i went to go up the ladder, she would force her way infront of me, and due to some stupid bug, as i would go to climb the ladder she would scream in pain as if i had sandwiched her between myself in the wall, and voila, im getting swords up my arse, that happened about 5 times.

Then when i eventually got up the ladder and took out the archer, i would wait on one of the lower roofs to strike, with the guy locked, and when i felt he was in range, i would have my arm blade ready, locked on, ran over the beam jumped at him, but i would get either one of two results, i would completely miss him and get spotted, or half way through the air he would spot me and so would all his guards.

And because i wanted a nice looking kill, i would have to wait every goddamn time for his guards to kill me because theres no option to reload a checkpoint, the only way you can achieve that is by completely comming out of the game and reloading the last "checkpoint", (trying not to spoil it for people who havn't got it yet) anyway yeah, and you end up at the bloody assassins bureau, instead of at the assassination point.

Overall i do really like the game, as much as i hate to admit it, but theres so many things that they could have done so much better, just little things you know, i know the good greatly outnumber the bad, but you can just see after a while they just said, ahh screw it, EG making every retard or drunk push you, would it have been so hard to make 1 in ever 4 try and have a go at you? Surely they're not all violent.

Also when your saving citizens, there are about 3 lines that they spew out, which can be kind of annoying when you hear the same lines about 50 times.

I know the camera is one of the best for a 3rd person game, but when locking on, its completely useless, the controls completely change due to camera direction and just make it a pain in the arse.

I do hope they make another one, on the same background story, which is actually a really good base for sequels, maybe a different time period?

BTW, when was there ever a completely English settlement in Israel???? To the point that all the citizens speak in English Accents and they're no persians around at all, thats rather strange to say the least.

They speak in English because the Animus, the machine playing out the memories is translating for you, its explained in the game. ;)

Well not everyone spoke english though. Some was dutch, french, middle eastern language. But yeah most of them was in English.

I liked it when you went to Damascus and they had this type of stereotype voices that ran small shops in the street saying "come come, see what I got for you for low prices"...etc. Reminds me of the first man in Aladdin movie when speaking of the lamp :)

The point is that its translating into a language that Desmond can understand. Unless he can speak Dutch, French, or Arabic, it wouldnt make sense for it to translate into those languages.

Well it probably has something to do with the bleeding effect of the Animus, just as Desmond was able to gain his Eagle vision after using the Animus for some time, Desmond's own personality traits are probably bleeding into the experiences of Altair. Hence why Altair sounds very American. This "bleeding effect" is also mentioned in one of the emails in the game. :)

Which I didn't know you could interact with the computer...damn it!

But yeah Mkk, it makes sense.

This is for the people who cares (me included)
Altair's full name is Altaïr Ibn La-Ahad which is arabic.
Altair means "eagle/the flyer"
Ibn La-Ahad means "Son of none".

Well how's this for you. I just finished the game (Yeah, I know I took my time with it) and it's, THE BEST ENDING IN A VIDEO GAME EVER. It Raises SO much questions and the whole story is just so mind blowingly twisted! I CANT WAIT for the sequel. this is a game that DOES NOT spoon feed you the answers, you really have to llok deeper!

Now that I finished I can safely say that it does indeed get repetitive but for some reason It just didnt bother but I can see why it does bother other people. What I did is play in small installements and ended having an absolutely fantastic time.

I really hope Ubisoft is going to spice it up in the sequel. They have a winning formula in there, they just need to cook it up nicely!

Completely agree. It was actually one of the best endings i've experienced in a video game. On par with COD4 (and that ending was bloody brilliant!).

Are you serious? For £40 i want a conclusion to a game, there was no damn conclusion what so ever, think thats going a bit too far to say its the best ending to a game you've played, maybe you haven't played many games :P

starring at a wall with cryptic messages on it, isn't my idea of a great climactic finish, it was like watching a heated back and forth boxing match, for it to go to a decision and then draw, it was just lazy. I wanted a conclusion, instead i got hints of to the next game, games shouldn't ever end in cliff hangers, thats just poor taste.

Would have much preferred someone in the real time saying something about what was about to go on or whatnot, instead your left in the building while they leave? I wasn't impressed at all, by far one of the worst game endings I've NEVER had the displeasure of experiencing, case and point, it didn't end, thats why it was crap

I would argue that its only one third of a trilogy but it seems that mass effect has a pretty satisfying ending. I dont really care though, I enjoyed AC's ending, makes me look forward to the sequels.

I have to agree not the best ending in a game ever, but DEFINITELY one of the most satisfying endings I have seen in a game without a doubt. COD4 had a fantastic ending as well, but I'd definitely give the edge to AC soley based on how you were just left with so many mysteries needing to be answered I was dying for more.

Sheps.

Not every game has to end with a solid answer. Imo, games that don't reveal too much and keep you guessing are at times better endings than ones that do conclude.

Oh and believe me, i've played A LOT of games ;)

I for one didn't understand a shit about the ending...until I found that site.
Everything makes sense, they pretty much explains the entire ending. And all the theories you will get until AC2 comes, its a great way to end it.
