Snake goes Assassin's

Here at Gamersyde, saying we don't like April fool's jokes would be a dramatic understatement. Nevertheless, it would be even more foolish to skip this very nice (and weird) video of an imaginary cross-over between Metal Gear Solid 4 and Assassin's Creed, produced by Ubisoft and Konami themselves - especially knowing that besides the Altaïr joke, the video features real never seen before gameplay from Hideo Kojima's next game.

Images of Assassin's Creed DS

Ubisoft releases the first screenshots of Assassin's Creed on Nintendo DS. For real. I'm not kidding. It doesn't look ugly at all actually, and after the XBLA Prince of Persia remake, I'm willing to give the developer Gameloft a chance.

The first 10 minutes: Assassin's Creed

Last minute change! The embargo for Assassin's Creed has been lifted here in Europe too. By chance I had already 2 videos uploaded, so here they are. At Ubisoft's request I'm not showing the real beginning of the game. If you know what happens, please don't spoil the surprise for the others! More videos, including from the PS3 version, and our impressions will follow later today and tomorrow.
Update: Third part available.
Update 2: Added a very short but still interesting video comparison of the 360 and PS3 versions. Thanks to TTP for the PS3 part :)
Update 3: Fourth and likely last video of the 360 version is up. Let me know if you want to see a video of what happens in the city.
Update 6: The PS3 video is back, this time with the right framerate. Again sorry about that.
Update 7: Since some people have claimed that the retail PS3 version ran far better than the review one, I went and bought it to make sure I didn't unfairly compare both versions. So I've done another comparison video, and you'll notice that the end result is still the same. I'm eagerly awaiting some people arguing that my PS3 is either broken, my capture hardware is buggy, or I've simply cheated the video so the 360 version looked better.

Dev. Diary for Assassin's Creed

A new Developer's Diary of the stealth videogame Assassin's Creed has been given to us by Ubisoft. Patrice Désilets talks about the importance of the fight system in the game, a key element that main character Altaïr will have to master in order to escape hasardous situations. Only recently has the game achieved gold status and will infiltrate the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 systems November 16 2007. The PC build will be available later in 2008.

8 minutes of Assassin's Creed

Ubisoft did this long video of the William de Montferrat mission in Acre, from Assassin's Creed. Unfortunately, it's really low-res - but, it's actually commented Jade Raymond, so it's absolutely worth checking out. If you want to see the same mission in high-def, you should watch our gameplay videos above.
