2007-01-10 10:06:25 GRAW 2 - 4 new videos are up!
Alright guys, GRAW 2 videos are up. I can not tell if they have upgraded the graphics or not, but so far it looks just a tad, but I need to see HD versions to see better.
What I have noticed is that it got same gameplay and more.
I noticed that you can watch what your teammates are doing while you are somewhere else, which is great for more tactical approach to the field to take out the enemy.
I havent seen the air-strike but I love it so much once they add those in games, feels like the TV show in 24 when Jack Bauser in Season 4 ordered 2 jets for a air-strike against a chopper, amazing.
Anyway, new stuff have been added, and it looks to me that I am gonna buy this, although I hope to god that they fix all the negative things about the online, like the lobby and the connection to the host and such.
So fars o good.

PS. The explosions OMG!!!!!!. It literally destroys the explosions that Lost Planet has, not that LP is bad or anything, it great but c'mon, GRAW 2 explosions are just amazing. And now that you can call up for air support it makes you like a freaking bad ass. On the air-strike video, the very first thing you will see is the air-support that you can call, and it blows up two places in row, it almost looks like a nuclear bomb drop, and in the end, omg. Oh man I can not wait for this game anymore.

Sweet! I'm not expecting a huge upgrade over GRAW visually..but there's a LOT they can do to make this franchise better. GRAW was sort of a rushed product (imo) that has its fair share of bugs and strange game design decisions..hopefully GRAW 2 sorts a lot of that stuff out. I think it would make it a killer game.
I'm definitly very interested in GRAW 2.

I'm definitly very interested in GRAW 2.
Non the less, the singleplayer plays like GRAW and some special addings. But I hope the MP is as good. But I get a sense that the engine will be downgraded like every other Tom Clancy game from SP to MP, although I hope not, because we are in next-gen now and they dont need to downgrade the visuals anymore.

I'd like to see an end to the lone wolf scenarios too, they seemed out of place in the original GRAW to me. Lots of little things, will make a big improvement over the original.

I hope co-op for the entire campaign would be amazing. Like the 1 player is Scott but your friend can be like one of the character by choosing, either the 1 player chooses for him both character and gear or when the 2 player jumps in that perosn chooses imself. And by co-op campaign I mean online, just like Gears.
Besides because you got 3 guys with you all the time, co-op online up to 4 players to play the entire campaign would be awesome.
Anyway, as long as co-op online for the entire campaign is included it would add so much to the replay value of the SP, not to mention that the regular online mode is just right to the corner of the campaign.

Yea, four player co-op throughout the entire campaign would be a big selling point..but they would have to do away with the lone wolf style missions--no loss there!

Damn damn damn!!! so the coop side is basicly the same as graw1!!!
quote:
You're probably wondering about the multiplayer. We can't talk about it yet, other than to say it's back with more options than ever. It will support 16 players and provide a side-story-based co-op set of missions. It will be hawt. Come back in a few weeks and we'll spill our guts. Like with GRAW, Red Storm Studios is handling the multiplayer portion of GRAW2, while the single-player game is in development by the Paris, France team.

Damn, so we're getting another 2 games in one package. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. Ah well, I guess we'll see how this one turns out, they're confirming it's not exactly what I want, but that doesn't mean it won't be worth playing.

I dont know how some of you are saying there isnt much of a graphical difference or arent expecting one. The graphics are quite an improvement from the first GRAW and im not talking about the explosions. The characters are more defined with better polygons and textures and so are the environments. It's like what people were saying about the xbox to the 360. I dare anyone to go back to an xbox game and come back to a 360 game and call it xbox 1.5! Okay maybe it isnt that big of a difference but it's one that is really worth mentioning.
GRAW's multiplayer sucks, just to let out there. I hope redstrom puts some real effort into it!

The graphics are more detailed in my opinion in GRAW 2, but yet it has the same style to it.
I dont know what my conclusion should be on this one. Real-time or CGI-like.

i think it looks way more fluid then the first 1 and also the atmospheric effects are outstanding..i mean even watching those grenades go off i could feel them(if you get me)
cant wait....not to worried about the multiplayer...thats what gears is for

I stand corrected and apologize. The graphics in GRAW 2 are in fact not that much more superior. I think what lead me to my first conclusion of the game being more superior was more items on screen but on closer inspection the textures and poly count have only gone up slightly. Though I think the particle effects are better.

Ok I saw the picture that you were talking about and im pretty sure thats touched up but in engine. Look at the textures on the guy. They aint exactly CG hot.

But I want to see these in crisp clear HD which IGN takes monthly fees for, same as GS, which I hate.
But what I saw so far, it looks as great as the first one. Me loving these counter-terrist stuff, and a big fan of the tv show 24, I am so gonna get this. But I MIGHT change my mind because of the online aspects. Everything hangs on the online, if they have fixed it or not, which I hope they will. Becuase I had a blast playing online, and once the bullets hit you from an unexpected place, I always get scared.

The real question is will the singleplayer engine, make it over to multiplayer. The multiplayer engine in GRAW1 paled to the single player engine. Big fault on Ubi's part there. Hopefully they will be able to translate the same singleplayer engine over to multiplayer.

I'm not too keen on having two studios handle the seperate pieces of the game, if they're going to be such different takes on it. Hopefully things are a bit different this time around..could make or break this game for me.

I do hope they fix the things they wanted on GRAW, and keep the same visuals and gameplay system as the SP in MP.

Did they not change it because they felt the cover mechanic would change the online component to drastically ? I think if they can put it in rainbow six then why not this. It works just fine in R6.
