Oh, and the game doesn't look as awesome as I had hoped. I think it looks great.. but considering the amount of shit that Tekken and Virtua Fighter have both recieved, I can't imagine that this one is much safer. It looks passable, but certainly doesn't blow those games away.

Still looking forward to it greatly.. one of my favorite fighters, and it's online.. so I can kick all those whiners asses that complain about VF's lack of said feature.

I like where they're going with the overall style (though Ivy just looks shockingly overweight and flabby) and I appreciate the fantasy tone they seem to shoot for now.

I always admired the way Soul Edge/Blade tied everything together in a coherent feeling universe, but the Caliburs were always somewhat branded by their "megamix of fighters and styles" approach. It's not a bad thing in terms of variety, but it eliminates a distinct sense of unity. 1-3 were increasingly colourful and super-heroy, going in all sorts of different directions, but with this - based on the scans - they've settled on a nice "pop fantasy" kind of look that I enjoy.

Overall I have to say I think it looks rather smashing.. except for... the unfortunate Isabella Valentine.. who's a bit too piggy stuck in a sneaker for my taste.

Looks alright. People seriously need to give VF a rest now, concerning visuals. Skin looks great -- everything else looks strikingly average. I think it'll look beautiful in motion/when it's finished, but in its current state, I don't see how this is turning heads.

Ivy looks like she has male pattern baldness.

It's still near the top of my list though.

Mitsurugi! Thats all I need :) There is other good characters too just can't remember them now. Usually I just choose random character in fighting games. Keeps things a bit more interesting.

But yea, it's looking pretty average in those screens, but I don't doubt that it will look great when it's released in '08. Hopefully we'll get some gameplay footage at E3

Yea, Setsuka was pretty badass. I don't think we'll see anyone leave the cast.. that's just my assumption. I'm thinking we'll get a few new additions as well. I wish they'd drop the custom character and cameo nonsense, they're just distractions from the real game.

Custom character were fun for couple days but after that I only used original characters. I didn't like that adventure mode in SCIII. Overall I was quite disappointed with the whole game. Sure there was many things to do but something wasn't right in that game. Maybe I should give the game another chance now.

Well, it already looks better than tekken even from the horrible scans, the detail in the character models is impressive, the backgrounds look like crap... but Namco says they are work in progress. They still have 1 year to go, so I have no doubt this will be the best looking fighter when it comes out.

I don't know what people are looking at.. impressive character details? Where? The game really doesn't outdo Tekken or VF at this point -- will it eventually? I'm sure.. but it'll also be completed far after those two games. Now don't get me wrong.. I think it's gonna be great and I think it'll look great.. but people need to give those titles a rest of they're going to turn and say this looks impressive.

I just hope Ivy doesn't look like a sickly old man when I see it in motion.
