Yeah, I forget, is this or Heavenly Sword the most expensive european game ever? I'm pretty sure I've heard one of them is. If the entire game is this overwhelmingly PACKED with stuff going on (I mean the overhead view of the city looks insane) then I can easily imagine this is it.

Demo conclusion, i bet some of you have seen this part already, but here it is anyways.

COD 4's pre-alpha stage looks better than most game's gone gold stage.
E3 2K7- best. e3. ever.
Saying you cant find animaton in Japan is like saying you cant find food in Italy. Its simply not true.

When you think about it the first Killzone WAS a looker for a ps2 title.

Absolutely. The dormant potential in the first game, its tone and art direction are totally the reason I've been looking forward to KZ2 so much. I'm not one of those guys who hates what Halo is doing with its colour and sense of charm and humour - on the contrary I welcome it! - but I'm also a big fan of where Killzone was heading.
I like it that you can feel absorbed by this really frightening and harsh war and NOT have it be based on something that has happened. Instead allowing you to get involved with its fiction and stuff while retaining the believability of something like the Call of Duty games. The Helghast have this almost tragic backstory, this Planet of The Apes sense of "we did this to ourselves" or just, you know, the inherent evil of humanity finally turning against us. I love all these themes, and I love its look and I even liked Templar and Rico as characters. It's too bad that you killed Brian Cox character in the first though, he was really really good.
His speech in the intro to the first Killzone is almost Hitler-esque. :O

Checked vid out again those textures the way they are done totally match the visual style of the game and look great to me.
If they plan on making them better? Then thats cool, but if they were to be like that in finished game I wouldn't complain. I also like that blur they got going on looks pretty nice. They actually captured the look of the trailer if the explosion effects improve to look more impressive and all else is in order then wow.
Hopefully they do a good job advertising what story is all about and such since I know nothing about the universe of the game.

I'm far more concerned with the gameplay than the story, but we'll see. I really like their PSP game, but that's really no indication of how this will turn out. As for textures -- that just seems to be the platforms weakness -- poor memory management I guess. That said, there are certain strengths that sort of make up for it.. lighting, particle systems and animation all seem to go over really well.

Well like I said earlier there wasn't really a fault per se with the gameplay in the first, there were just tech issues getting in the way of it.
It plays a lot like an MOH or COD game really, with obstacles you can vault over with context sensitive buttons (no actual jump button in the game) and most of the time when you shoot stuff you wanna precision aim like you do in COD. In KZ1 you carried three weapons (seemingly just to not be Halo) but in this they've gone with two. Very directed moments in 1, sort of leading you along a lot like COD again.
But I.. suppose you could mean.. AI and stuff like that and that's anybody's guess, and everything is obviously subject to potentially change entirely. But anyway, that's essentially how the core gameplay worked in 1. Except it didn't really work because the framerate was insanely sluggish and the controls were super mushy and weird.

Well, to be fair I haven't ever played KZ1. I'm just a little worried based on all of the other impressions of the game that are out there, which generally aren't that great.

True, and justifiably so, it's definitely got loads of problems. It is one of those games where you sort of feel sorry for it and the devs and the circumstances though.
Sort of like when you see this beautiful woman performing on stage and her fringe blows into her mouth and the microphone stops working. You know she can prolly sing really great but it's difficult to appreciate what with the.. hair.. and the.. no sound.

Well let's keep in mind the game is also being worked on as we speak, there are sure to be improvements. As for the flaws of the previous games, im sure they've learned alot since then. Im pretty confident KZ2 will be the game KZ 1 should have been.

Understandable then I'd say the explosions right now are probably the alpha part and if the textures will infact become better then by all means. They have some truly impressive use of motion blur thought that certain can't be denied :)
