Halo 2

Halo 2 has been released way more than 2 years ago now, but is still one of the most played games on Xbox Live. So it's rather logical that MS keeps released "new" content for the game with these 2 maps named Desolation and Tombstone, to be released on April 17.

Here at Xboxyde, a promise is never forgotten, even if we're damn slow. So, one week after the first cut-scenes of Halo 2, be prepared to the twenty first minutes of gameplay (from the french version).

It's with great pleasure (but without the help of MS) that I'm presenting you the first 12 minutes of Halo 2 from the retail version of the game (no idea if the leak is different or not). You may not be that interested by what is said, but take your time staring at the incredible realtime cutscenes. Certainly some of the best looking cutscenes I've ever seen, realtime or prerendered. Bungie sure knows how to use the Xbox to the max. Enjoy !

Even though I have not been invited to the press presentation of Halo 2 (Thanks a lot, I appreciate this...), I've managed to get the Halo 2 press kit. So here are the images of the kit, spoilers beware !

I've compiled all of the officiel Halo 2 Soundtrack snippets in one zip file so you do not have to use the rather tedious interface to get to hear them. Amesome stuff !

Bungie allowed the release of this 6 minutes Halo 2 multiplayer featurette. Some very good stuff in there, like some never seen before in motion maps, cool new features, the web interface and more. Must see !

Bungie officially released the Halo 2 trailers, so here is the 60 seconds version of the previous one, and the french TV spot.

Microsoft finally started the big advertising campaign for Halo 2, starting with this short but very nice TV commercial. Good stuff !

On the australian version of Xbox.com, you can find a very interesting flash animation (see captures). That's not an official confirmation yet, but it seems a lot like it :)
Update : The OXM Halo 2 review indicates that the game does NOT support coop by Xbox Live. Very disappointing.

The official Halo 2 site had been updated last friday with lots of more or less new medias of the game, unfortunately the site was written in "covenant", making the navigation not that simple. I've decompiled the whole site and extracted the images so you can now see them easily in the gallery.
