Battle of the Bands

Battle of the Bands, known before as Band Mashups, is a videogame really similar to Guitar Hero developed for the Nintendo Wii. In fact, if it wasn't from the fact that the songs can go from rock to latin to hip-hop and other styles on a whim, it could be identified as a part of the hit series. Musical videogame Band Mashups has been announced a little bit less than a week ago on the Nintendo Wii. THQ offers the possibility to revisit this universe with a handful of screenshots and, more importantly, the very first gameplay video. I'm not sure to understand what the hell is going on the screen, but the instant musical style change is funny.

THQ prepares a new musical game for the Nintendo Wii : Band Mashups, where up to two players will be able to use one of the 11 bands available which are trying to topple the evil Mr. Hong. The concept is a modification of the musical style as the game progresses (rock, funk/hip-hop, country, latin and marching band). The game has 30 unique tracks from the last four decades recorded in all the above styles for a grand total of 150 tracks. Release date is set to next April.
