The latest version of Crytek's impressive engine was released this week and it's only a matter of time before the first games using Cry Engine 3 hit the shelves. To announce the launch, Crytek released a promotional video showing the different features of the new engine. Some sequences have already been shown before but it's still worth taking a look.

EA has released this interview of Peter Moore where he mainly talks about EA sports games. Don't worry, it starts in French but then the switch to English, well close enough for the interviewer anyway.

Sony has finished off their GamesCom press conference, the big "surprise" was the already so rumoured Playstation 3 slim. ~30% lighter and smaller with almost the same specs and features, and a release on September 1st. There's an image inside with more over at the official Playstation Blog Flickr page. Other system announcements were Firmware 3.0 and removal of the "Install other OS" feature,

The summer 2009 Xbox 360 dashboard update is almost ready to launch, and so Microsoft released this batch of images showing some of the new stuff included.

EA today announced a July 8th (XBLA) and 9th (PSN) release date for Battlefield 1943, and quite fittingly we also received a Q&A from the XCN. The producer, Gordon Van Dyke, took time to answer a bunch of questions; he said no plans for DLC are made, but he thinks every 1942 map is fitting for remaking. I couldn't agree more, let's do it EA - I want my Omaha Beach!

Sega is about to fill the Xbox Live Arcade with some good ol' Genesis games. Games such as Sonic 3, Altered Beast, Shinobi, Comix Zone or Gunstar Heroes will be sold 400 MS Points each. Here is a small trailer, which should motivate you (or not) to buy some of these.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2009 edition is now officially over. These three days have really been intense and exhausting, but they especially offered us a chance to take a look at a large amount of games. Games really amazing, in terms of visuals as well as gameplay. So here we go for our impressions on the titles we've been able to test.
