Forbidden West having been delayed to February 2022, the 60 fps update for Horizon: Zero Dawn has arrived at the right time. We may have missed the information ahead of its release but we're under the impression that Sony remained awfully quiet, which is surprising as the patch works marvels.

GSY Review PC PS4

The arrival of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC follows the release of a more recent game running on Decima Engine, Death Stranding. With no support of DLSS 2.0 in Aloy's adventures, we were curious to see how the game would perform in 4K so we recorded a bunch of HQ videos showing performance in various resolutions and with different graphics settings. As usual, our testing rig is composed of an RTX 2080 Ti and an Intel i9 9900K.
Note: The day one patch was released an hour before the embargo lifted so there might be some notable improvements regarding performance. As a result, the following videos should be taken with a grain of salt as they may not reflect how the game will run on Friday when it ships.

After purchasing a brand new capture PC which brought us a lot more problems to capture some good 4K direct feed footage, we decided to go back to the old one and managed to find a way to stream Horizon: Zero Dawn The Frozen Wilds smoothly (minor a few hiccups because we pushed the quality a bit too far). Those who have a good connection can already download the replay, as for the others, we'll embed the YouTube player when the video is ready there.
Update: YT streams available.

This week will not only see the release of the Xbox One X, it will also please PlayStation 4 owners with The Frozen Wilds, the first DLC for Horizon: Zero Dawn. We have prepared a few videos of the PS4 Pro version, most of which were recorded in 1080p while the game was running in resolution mode. For those wanting to see a bit more, join us tonight in a new livestream at 9:15 CET.

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds was of course showcased at Sony's event with this brand new trailer.

Now that we can record compressed 4K/HDR videos with our newly aquired Shogun Inferno, we had to make sure lossless capture would finally be possible with Amarec. We installed a faster SSD and it did the trick, as proven by the following videos. To show you that Gamersyde is now perfectly ready to reach new horizons, what better games than Forza Horizon 3 running at 60 fps on PC (ultra settings but no MSAA) and Horizon: Zero Dawn running at 30 fps on PS4 Pro.
Update: We've just added a video of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
Update 2: A small taste of Alan Wake in 4K.

Many people asked us to do more HDR video after the surprisingly positive reception of our Forza 7 ones a few days ago. Needless we don't have anymore HDR footage from upcoming games, but we have a lot of amazing looking PS4 Pro title to show off. I don't think many people will be surprised by the fact that we start with the still incredibly amazing looking Horizon: Zero Dawn, and these two videos showing a sunset, and a very high contract Cauldron sequence (slight spoilers in that one).
Update 6: After inFamous: Second Son, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Ratchet & Clank, WipEout Omega Collection, The Last of Us, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands and now a third video of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

The good news for the many players who enjoyed Horizon: Zero Dawn is the announcement of The Frozen Wilds, a DLC coming this year. Trailer and screens after the jump.

The plethora of videos Driftwood captured for you along with his impressions should have helped to ease the wait hopefully. Horizon: Zero Dawn is now available almost everywhere, so let's celebrate the official release with this CGI launch trailer.

GSY Live PS4

Our thorough coverage of the highly anticipated Horizon: Zero Dawn ended yesterday with 2 livestreams. Both were rather different in terms of content, so if French does not scare you, check out the 2 replays.
Update: One last batch of homemade images now the game is officially available for everyone.
