Heh...thats interesting. I was thinking it was gonna be a launch title for sure.

Well, I guess this helps confirm the Spring 2006 launch and helps put to rest that 2007 launch rumor...

heh, yeah I've seen that animation.
Pretty funny.

But, what I was getting at (and what I stated in the first post there), is that there has been no statement on the release date of UT2k7, or the PS3.
I guess some have said that the PS3 would be released in Spring of '06, but then again, look at how War Tourist debunked the rumor of UT2k7 being a launch title for the PS3.

All we know now is that each release won't coincide.

Edit:
Altough, the last two UT releases have been a bit before the end of the year, or a bit after the start of the new year.

Seems like it will most likely be, PS3 > UT2007.

Can't wait to play UT2007 on my PC (probably need to upgrade my 6800GT for it).. Demo first, that's always cool aswell so you can try the game first..

2007 rumours for PS3 release concern europe, not the US and japan. Spring 2006 seems unlikely even according to my wishful guestimates, but if it does come out then, we're definitely looking at a japan release. US will follow a couple of months later, and yes, europe may have to wait until 2007 to see the PS3. Look at the complete and utter shame that was the PSP release delay. Simply unforgivable.

Sony won't come running into this whole worldwide release thing because they simply consider themselves above all of that "trying to standardize stuff and make things better" nonsense other people are trying. A shame really, because I am thoroughly looking forward to the PS3 and finding out how they're planning to tackle this whole (brilliant) Xbox Live/achievements/Marketplace thing. That for me is the biggest advantage Microsoft has, because it already feels like something completely natural and given that leaderboards and some kind of Live/Online functionality are integrated in basically every game.

As for UT2007 I have no idea whatsoever, I'm still pissed because there's NO WORD on an Unreal Championship 3.

Same here.. At least give us UC2 backwards compatibility meanwhile. It's such a gorgeous game even on the Xbox, the added clarity in textures and overall resolution would make it absolutely jaw dropping. Oh and it's in my opinion one of the best multiplayer experiences you could have on the Xbox, whether you were 2 players or 8.

Yeah, they really got it right with that game.
(More "right" than any other FPS by any company for a console, I would say)

Backwards compatibility would be great, if they don't screw it up like others have.
They need to give it lots of love, like Bungie did for Halo2 BC.

Sony already stated that they weren't going to do online like the 360. Its going to be more like the PS2 but a little bit better. But really, I don't even play my PS2 online...all the games I love for it are all single player. So I expect that to remain the same with PS3 seeing as how most of the games are sequels to the ones I love on PS2. The only game that I would really like to play online is GT4...

See, that doesn't say it's NOT a ps3 launch title for certain. I don't read too much into it, I think all the oooohhhh UT2K& is a launch title talk was foolishness from jump, lets find out when the ps3 is supposed to launch before we start talking launch titles.

It better not be. I saw the PSM mag with the UT2007 cover and those screens for UT2007 on the dev kits are horrendous. My old PC can render the game far better than those screens. Not being a fanboy, I expected the Sony dev kits to be much better than the XBOX 360 after all the time that was given to them.

The POWER of the PC will always be superior within a year, but you'll never be playing games on the same level. That's largely because they're not streamlined to run games, have a memory gobbling OS always running in the background, and the fact that games are always developed with at least two year OLDER machines in mind with fluffy shader stuff added on top.

Unreal Tournament Out When It's Done on 1UP gets Mark Rein to clear up (or unclear up as it turns out) whether or not Unreal Tournament 2007 will be a launch title for the PS3:

"For now we soldier on with the plan to ship on PC as soon as we're done," says Rein. "Whether that means we can be a launch title for PS3 or not is inconclusive but we won't ship the title on any platform before its done and it is too early to say when that will be."
