Microsoft and Epic announced today that they would release a brand new map pack for Gears of War as soon as Thursday, for 800 MS points (free in september). The new maps are called Bullet Marsh, Garden, Process and Subway, and are visible inside.

This is what I expect for Blue Dragon I mean i don't expect it to hit 2 million worldwide (even though it deserves to) but I expect it to have legs like this. To be able to continue getting gamers that are interested in playing it.
There might be weeks or months where it doesn't perform, but then there is a next where it truly gets noticed and people start buying it. I expect a similar situation for Blue Dragon in Japan, but clearly with not as incredible a start obviously. A game like gta for one started out with like 300k one month to my knowledge then just shot up to 1 million the next month.

I think BD was more of a 1st step, if we consider all the other JRPGs coming out, then i say x360 could get an install base in japan, they have 200K now, but im guessing they might get 500K by next summer and maybe more, I know in japan the xbox isnt well seen, but the original managed 450k, so i can easilly see how the 360 could make it to 1 million, and you can bet those 1 million will love the games since its not rabid fans, its hard earned fans who chose the console for the great games.

2 million already, when most Christmas sales are not even included yet, go figure.. It will probably hit 3 million pretty soon.. Very good news for Epic and MS's Xbox 360 team..
And yes, lets hope Blue Dragon was a 1st succes in Japan for MS, and that games like Lost Planet etc can keep the sales going overthere.. MS doesn't have to be #1 in Japan, but they do need a solid installed userbase to get more Japanese developers on the Xbox 360..

For all we know blue dragon to have a sales spike 1 week from now maybe 2 or possibly even 2 months from now.
Looking at the performance of most games out there its totally possible that bd could just out of nowhere move 100k or more any time between now and may.

Yeah well if it was Halo 3 or GoW in ever thread you would have no problem with it , but i do agree it is getting silly.

And yea, I would have a problem with it Jolli..I'm getting sick of walking into the Blue Dragon threads just to see people arguing about Mass Effect too. Regardless of the fact that I agree with them.
Gears will probably get a pretty average score in Famitsu, I can't imagine it scoring high, despite it's unquestionable quality :) Famitsu's reviews are sorta crappy anyway, I don't think that it's really fair to generalise the entire Japanese gaming population into Famitsu--that's like saying that we know what every American gamer is thinking by reading EGM.
