heres Joey's (mine) 3 steps to taking down a scarab with styyyyle :P

step 1: drive a warthog at full speed up a nearby ramp into mid air:



step 2: quickly jump out of the warthog in mid air as you approach the scarab, dont worry about the poor marine on the turret who is falling to his death, he falls to his death knowing that he served along side master chief lol. BELIVE.



Step 3: throw a spike granade onto the weak spot within the scarab and run for your life!!!!!!!! and then BOOM

Well after 2 days of staying indoors for some non-stop Halo action, here's the battle report :)

First of I played the game on legendary with one buddy of mine. But we were a little bit tired of playing splitscreen, so I decided to bring my LCD screen with me...





So now we had the following ingredients:

Halo 3 Legendary Edition
Halo 3 Limited Edition
A 42" Inch Pioneer HD Plasma Screen
A 32" Inch Samsung HD Lcd Screen
A Few 360's
A lot of drinks and food
Surround sound
And lot's of free time

Which resulted in the following screenshots:

The boom effect of the gravity hammer is awesome. especially when used on the flood or an appoaching ghost.

Disapointed by the pistol however. Its like the magnum, but you cant empty the mag as fast as you want.

Earlier this week, a Beyond3D user claimed to have discovered that Halo 3 doesn't run natively in high definition. Using his HDTV's 1:1 mapping function, he discovered that Halo 3's vertical resolution was only 640; that's 80 pixels less than the lowest HD resolution, which is 720p (1280x720).

The latest Bungie Weekly Update has Luke Smith confessing that in fact, Halo 3 doesn't run natively at 720p like all other Xbox 360 games:

Halo 3 uses not one, but two frame buffers – both of which render at 1152x640 pixels. The reason we chose this slightly unorthodox resolution and this very complex use of two buffers is simple enough to see – lighting. We wanted to preserve as much dynamic range as possible – so we use one for the high dynamic range and one for the low dynamic range values. Both are combined to create the finished on screen image.

Good or bad, Bungie should be red faced, and has egg on its face, especially for the PS3 fanboy crowd. I could absolutely see downgrading from 1080p, but 720p, c'mon.
