The first 10 minutes : Prey part 2

As promised here is the second first 10 minutes of Prey on Xbox 360, this time showing what's happening after the ending of the demo. I'm sure you have already noticied, either by playing or by watching the videos that Prey is a very linear and totally scripted game. Some people will hate this, others will love it. Personally I'm quite enjoying this game, with lots of very good and creative ideas like portals and gravity changes that add a real plus to an otherwise rather classic gameplay. The game can be finished in about 6 hours, but these are 6 excellent hours where a lot of stuff happens. The multiplayer mode could have added to this, but I really found it too limited to be much more than a nice bonus. Also worth noting, the framerate can from time to time get rather bad, proving once again after Quake 4 that the Doom 3 engine isn't at all designed for the 360 architecture.

The first 10 minutes: Prey

Prey is one of these mythical games like Duke Nukem Forever or Team Fortress 2, announced years ago and either disappearing completely, or barely looking alive. Well, who would have thought 18 months ago that Prey would be in stores now, and that Team Fortress 2 would be back again? Certainly not me, so I'm quite happy to present this video of the first 10 minutes of Prey, that many of you guys certainly know already thanks to the demo. My full impressions and another video, this time showing what's happening after the demo ends will be online either tonight or tomorrow.

E3: Multiplayer of Prey

Here is another multiplayer video of a PC port, this time the colorful Prey. Again, I haven't played it myself, but the game seemed pretty neat graphic-wise.
Update: Low resolution version added.

E3: Prey trailer

Prey keeps impressing me with all these nice gravity and portals ideas. This trailer really shows off this, and is really well done.

E3: Xbox 360 games montage

As always now, Microsoft did a video montage of a bunch of Xbox 360 games, some showing some short bits of unseen before gameplay footage.

Prey gameplay trailer

2K Games keep releasing their release countdown trailers for Prey, even though it's still two months till the release of the game. This one presents the portals and gravity fllipping. 3D Realms recently posted their Prey_weekly_update_17.html target=_blank>17th weekly update, and the MultiPrey sounds pretty cool to play.

Prey gameplay video

2K Games released a three minute long gameplay trailer, presenting a lot of new stuff actually. The portals looks cool as hell, and the minimize-feature is quite impressive. The overall art isn't in my taste though. The released date for the US is now 10th of July, and you can now see how the Collector's Edition looks.

Prey trailer

Human Head Studios has released a four minute long trailer for Prey, titled "The Super trailer". The game can be super in many ways, but one thing is for certain: it's super-delayed, but also super-revolutionary and super-cool. Seems like 2K Games will have at least two smash hits this year.

Prey 720p Xbox 360 videos

2K Games released two short single player videos, and a quite long multiplayer from Prey - all in 720p. The last one is heavely confusing though, it will probably take some time to get used to the physics. There's also four images from the PC-version in the news.

What's up?
  • Megido
Megido @Doom_Bringer: do you really think one bad review is going to have that much of an impact on a game that has a 91 on metacritic? (25 minutes ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: it hurts the developer and sales...are they likely to make another if the game scores bad? Edge sucks (35 minutes ago)
  • GeRaLTo
GeRaLTo @Baleur: 80% of reviews are written by "drones" .Ign, eurogamer, teamxbox, gamespot etc are nothing but companies. Who cares 'bout theirs "reviews" anyway (2 Hours ago)
  • Baleur
Baleur Why are you discussing reviews anyway? When have reviews ever mattered? They are just individual people writing about their individual opinions. Might as well read reviews on music too then, lol XD (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX pfft text! we only care for numbers (5 Hours ago)
  • blmbox
blmbox Yeah, but judging by the content of both reviews, Eurogamer didn't particularly care much for the game anyway. They probably only gave it an 8 to avoid controversy - the review sounded more like a 6. (9 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 6 to 8 split on Eurogamer, which isn't quite as large but still pretty significant. (10 Hours ago)
