You’re flying around this vast universe with hundreds of locations, where one’s a derelict spacecraft from which you get this distress call. Another might be an uncharted world with a full backstory, multi-hour storyline that you’ve got to explore and go on the surface and sub-surface and explore and find some new locations that send you off to a new location.

"If you liked the storyline in Knights of the Old Republic, a lot of the same writers and designers that worked on that game are working on Mass Effect, and they’ve learned from that experience. There’s tons of stuff that they’re like, “What if we could do this?” Well, they’re doing it in Mass Effect, everything they could think of. Well I guess this is a bad time to tell you that you'll run into a blackhole in the galaxy which will take you to an alternate universe and you'll end up in Final Fantasy 7 which you and the rest of your team (and everyone on the ship) will quickly be killed by Sephiroth and then the scene will change to Cloud hopping off the train and Mass Effect will have become the FINAL FANTASY 7 REMAKE!!!

So how’s Mass Effect coming along? What’s the status of the game?

Ray Muzyka: It’s going really well. We haven’t announced a final release date for it yet, but the team’s entering the final push. We’ve got a great team, they’re working really hard. There are 120 or 130 people working on it right now, and they’re working really hard on it. They’re committed, they’re passionate, they’re hard working. It’s an honor to work with them, they’re doing some great stuff. I just saw a video today of some of the near final levels and some of the gameplay stuff that we had recorded, that you guys will probably see. Hopefully we’ll show some of that very soon to you guys. It’s looking absolutely stunning, it’s the best stuff we’ve ever done at BioWare. I can say that with complete confidence. I think that it’s potentially the best game we’ve ever done. It’s an amazing game. It’s got exploration of all of these uncharted worlds, it’s got beautiful, beautiful characters. I think the way we’re doing dialogue and story is really accessible, and yet the depth is there, too.

So, it’s got tremendous depth in terms of the way the progression systems work, and customization, it flows naturally from dialogue to story to exploration to combat, back and forth. And I think it’s very fluid, very accessible in real time. But it’s going really well, we’re in the final push.

You sound like its the official release date, will dont get upset or anything, but it is not coming in May. I can tell you now that every release date out there on shops and sites are totally fake, its just "maybes" than "is".

A guy from Microsoft E&D Poland told me so then I believe ME will be released in May. Maybe they don't have it set in stone, but distributors have to know at least approximate date releases in advance.

That is what I thought as well. I am like 100% sure that they dont literally mean hundreds of planets, more like hundreds of locations in the planets you are available to go to.

All thise talk about Mass Effect and its visuals and sci-fi theme of being like a classical movie is making me die and cry inside because I really want it.

Not even Microsoft knows when it is going to be released. Its only BioWare that sets the release date, they are the only ones who says "ok we are done" and then MS gives a release date when BioWare says they are done now.

And frankly, all the sites and shops should have it TBA 2007.

But heres the good news though. Knowing that a lot of information about the game with screenshots, concept arts and videos have been released from BioWare, and Ray even says that they are almost done with it and such plus that a box cover is released, then I could say it is coming in couple of months, which is good.

hehe, true Kenshin, I know I want to but II have to think realistic so I do not get my hopes up, although it is too late for that ahaha.

Is it me or has Mass Effect the Cross-Com as well? =S I bet the Mass Effect can give you a head start of where the enemy is gonna go and take cover.
I hope you can take that on and then have a great looking GRAW style on your display, would be so freaking awesome.

Man, this feels like one of those rare games, where i get the feeling that I don't want to finish it. Kind of like a good movie, where you don't want it to ever end. I'm going to prologue my completion for as long as I can. Then when I finally do, replay :p

I so do agree with you Kenshin.

For example some TV channel here in sweden started to show Stargate SG-1 from the very beginning, and I NEVER watched Stargate, but now I have been following it from start and I do not want ti to end, by that I mean the episode, if it is really good.

Samething with movies like Serenity..."thats it!?" c'mon add more space battles or speaches, atleast make a donkey walk form the screen, but do not close it hehe.

And speaking about Stargate...Stargate Atlantis is gonna show from the beginning on March 8th, which I hope is good.

Anyway yeah, I usually just go for fast replies and such, but on Mass Effect I am gonna make my character look like a professional like if a very good art designer did it, then its game time.

I am obviously gonna play it through so many times, gonna go through all the classes, tactical approaches, new characters keep switching male to female, different weapons, biotics, armor...etc.

All that could take the entire year of 2007 haha and maybe even in the early of 2008 haha.

Edit: Just checked that site out and it is amazing. It is like quicktime, it download-streams it., which is really good, rather just stream it like wmv files or apx or whatever.

Sure its not the best quality, but it beats the hell out of youtube hehe.

What really bugs me is...no 24!?

I love that show so much. I just watched the latest episode on Season 6 (latest) couple of days ago, intense as hell.
