The first 10 minutes : Battle for Middle Earth 2

EA surprised everyone earlier this year by announcing Battle For Middle Earth II on Xbox 360. This type of games have never really been succesfully ported on consoles due to the lack of mice on these systems. Well it looks like EA finally overcame the issue with a very well thought control and selection system. The gameplay never really feels more awkward than it should be with a pad, except when selecting very small units.
I'm not a fan at all of these type of games so I really can't give you guys any real impressions, but enjoy this long video showing most of the tutorial level. This should give you a very good idea of how this game controls.

As always now, Microsoft did a video montage of a bunch of Xbox 360 games, some showing some short bits of unseen before gameplay footage.

Battle for Middle Earth 2 trailer

EA has released the first Xbox 360 trailer for Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth 2. Hopefully they'll soon understand that crappy resolutions isn't the way to go for Xbox 360 trailers.

3 Battle for Middle Earth 2 images

Electronic Arts released these 3 images of The Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle Earth 2. I'm still wondering how they will manage to get this to play nicely without a mouse.

Battle for Middle Earth 2 images

EA keeps releasing two or three new images from Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle-Earth II each week. This time it's from the same maps that was presented last week. The graphics really fail to impress when the view is zoomed in.

LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2 video

EA released this long video of Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth 2. It's recorded from the PC-version but it should give you an idea of how the game plays, as it shows 12 minutes of multiplayer action while being commented by one of the developers.

  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah, you have had netflix for ages too. We got Zune Marketplace now though and can finally rent stuff on the 360. The points system on the 360 is retarded when you wanna rent a movie though. (1 Hour ago)

SimonM7 Destructoid was talking about a video rental service on the PS3. Has that launched in europe yet? If so, is it only accessible in select countries? (2 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Yep. Kinda disappointing considering this was Oshii's contribution (of Ghost in The Shell fame), I honestly expected a lot better. (3 Hours ago)

dcdelgado @SimonM7: yYeah did not like the art style but i lovd the way they dig into the halo lore and not concentrate on the cheif or spartans all the time, Babysitter is still my fav though. (3 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer just finished Dragon Age this evening. Overall another Bioware hit but the story is a little too simple...no big shocks like KOTOR here. Your choices really do matter big time though. GOTY 8.7/10 (3 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Yeah the art style ended up looking like utter garbage. The music saves the drama some though. (3 Hours ago)
