10 first minutes of Vietcong: Purple Haze

10 first minutes of Vietcong: Purple Haze

Adaptated from an old PC game, Vietcong: Purple Haze is one of the crappiest FPS on Xbox I have ever seen. Through this terrifying video, discover a true home-made "five years late" 3D engine, trying to create a ridiculous jungle made of 2D sprites and horrible animated textures. Call it anything you want, but I think "Hell" will be perfect.

"Call you how you want, but I think "Hell" will be perfect." <- "Call it" ;)

why would you waste 53mb of your webspace if the game is really that bad?

I had to review this game. It was torture.

I agree with KnifeFace. You shouldn't waste that much webspace & bandwidth on a crap game like that.

Well when a publisher makes the effort to send me a game, the least I can do is talk about it. Of course it can be a double edged sword ;)

How can you call this one of the worst games ever? It was supposedly one of the most acclaimed games ever when it first released on PC. I know the Xbox version isn't an optimal port, but it's essentially the same game.

You'd have to ask Snoopers about it since he's the one who had the chance to test it. But as far as I can tell they graphics are sub-par and the gameplay is not at all optimized for consoles.

And Snoopers really enjoyed the game on PC too.

About the game

What's up?
  • MrWhite
MrWhite that's a pretty big deal, as its probably the biggest stumbling block for the tech. (41 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Stuff like inside out tracking and eye tracking, as well as motion sickness solutions should be in place. We've already got a product in development that claims to have eradicated that already (42 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite The potential of it is massive. More so than what traditional gaming now is. Second gen is going to be very interesting. (43 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite We're sort of being spoon fed bit sized "experiences" that either work or don't. I suppose that's part of the freshness of it, though. I just wish some big devs would get more involved. (44 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @KORNdog: Ironically, though, the VR scene is also playing it safe. Too safe. There's not enough big risk titles like RE7. (45 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I can't really wrap my head around being dismissive of indie games. That's a pretty broad label. (3 Hours ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus put and end to corridor/cinematic/c utscene/qte/playforyousoyouwon'tmissathi ousoyouwon'tmissathing ng experiences, and start to see more games like Prey/BotW and the sort. Nuts&Bolts is an awesome game, as well. We need N&B2 (5 Hours ago)
