Wait, who's the publisher, Ubisoft or Microsoft? Is Red Lynx a Ubisoft-owned studio?

*checks official website*

Ah, ok. Carry on.

That would be nice. I'm getting a bit worried about my XBLA purchases. Microsoft has given us no indication on what sort of future these purchases have. Do they live and die with the Xbox 360? I'm not about to assume otherwise.

Remember when they told us XBLA was coming to Windows? What was that, four years ago? Yeah...

I think it would be silly to think your Xbox arcade titles will be transferable to a different console, they will always work on your 360.

Just like Xbox Live will always be available for the original Xbox? Don't be so certain of that either. Is backwards compatibility a silly thing to ask for too?

Do you need to be connected to Xbox Live for Arcade games to work?

Backwards compatibility is only a bonus for a new console rather than being mandatory, Original PS3 owners and those that bought it shortly afterwards will testify to that.

Being good to your customers isn't mandatory either. XBLA purchases, as they are, are glorified rentals. Cross platform purchases would give me more incentive to buy things on Xbox Live. And I don't expect that these games will ever be playable on another platform, but that won't stop me from wanting that. I think it's a pretty reasonable thing to want software that I buy to have a life beyond a console that can bare stay functional within its own lifetime.

What is stopping these games working on your 360? And if you dont expect these games working on a new console then what is the point in your posts? Buy the game and enjoy it like the rest of us will.

Well if they shutdown the 360 live, how are you going to download these titles? After that you would need to pray every time that your HDD or console wont break down. How would you transfer licenses for new consoles etc.

Xbox Live on 360 will not be shut down before this title arrives! If you want to buy this game 3 years after release and is no longer available then that's just tough. If your worried about a HD failing once a new Xbox is out then the sensible thing to do is back it up.

I am buying it right away but that's not the point.

With my collection, which is around 150 XBLA's, i really hope we can play/re-download them on next xbox (probably won't happen :'( ) haha.

This can be a pretty good game on Vita. If Ubisoft is smart they should definitely make it happen

About the game

What's up?
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Loakum: Then Fallout 4 most likely isn't a game for you. Which is okay, no game - nothing, really - is for everyone. I would recommend you not buy it. (2 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @PT_G4MER: GTAV offers very little freedom in its story missions. Its what they still get wrong despite being open world. (8 minutes ago)
  • Loakum
Loakum @Sdarts - yeah, I seen the Fallout 4 trailer during the Bethesda conference....I was waiting for it to end. lol (16 minutes ago)
  • jmd749
jmd749 But then again it's too early to tell how much freedom ND is going to allow in UC4. They have more capacity on the BD disk now due to realtime cutscenes. Either way it's no deal breaker for me. (18 minutes ago)
  • jmd749
jmd749 @PT_G4MER: It's not really necessary in a game like this, Tomb Raider and the like. To want to go back and retrace where a set piece just occurred is what we all do, but we also accept when we can't. (21 minutes ago)
  • Nanosecond
Nanosecond @PT_G4MER: Rise of the Tomb Raider, on the other hand, had one of the worst demos I've seen recently. Uncharted is leagues ahead not only in visuals, but in level design. (26 minutes ago)
  • Nanosecond
Nanosecond @PT_G4MER: They've stated this various times. Obviously all roads lead to the same place, since they have to, but you could take different paths to get there. (27 minutes ago)
