Sony has announced PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, a 4 players brawler game developed by SuperBot Entertainment. The title will feature iconic characters such as Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Parappa, Fat Princess, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper and many others as well as thrid-party gaming heroes. looks like they where inspired by the Wii's crappy visuals too. it looks fugly.

Looks bad, but my big beef with it is that well...to be fair Sony has a pretty shite roster of characters. It works with the Nintendo IPs because they all have fun, colorful characters that you might actually want to play...unlike flaming clown asshat, Angry albino greek and...half baked cookie-dough parappa :P

It just lacks the visual flare that kinda sells Smash bros.

i dont get why they didnt put some effort in and uniform the art style. make everyone cartoony, rather then the horrible mish mash they currently have. the characters are great, but they all look jarring together.

Anyway, I see a kiddy PS3 coming soon! $199 PS3, Sly 4, Playstation All Stars, Ratchet Triology and probably some other games....

Hope it works out for them. This game seems to be aimed at kids for sure. And Nintendo man babies

Oh dear i don't think anyone will be surprised if this dies on it's arse. It must be that Sony wants to focus a little differently though because they must surely realise that despite an excellent range of characters in their bag, they're very unlikely to work outside the original ip- the trouble is Sony isn't Nintendo in this respect. It all seems very odd to me but maybe it will surprise many with amazing sales

And without honestly trying to sound like some fanboy here, maybe Sony just don't know what to do and are trying something else. If i was in charge of running Sony game's division at the time the likes of Killzone2, Gow, Lbp, Motorstorm etc were shown, then i would happily bet that this line up of impressive exclusives be enough to make a real difference. In truth it hasn't really done the trick as much as i think most gamers even would have predicted. What is it they need to do is what i'd be asking. Maybe they are just desperate because they know Sony isn't the Mike Tyson it used to be

Waste of a development team, time, and resources. Smash Bros. works because the idea of all of them being within the same universe and having a "master hand" play with them is funny and endearing. Sony has too many serious franchises for this.

I mean maybe at the beginning of the PS2 era they could of gotten some Spyro and Crash characters to play along with Jak & Daxter, Rachet & Clank, and Sly Cooper's crew.

Microsoft are doing one too. There is that guy from Halo in the green, a Kinect camera and a Call of Duty Map Pack character too. Also the Advertisements from the Nov 2011 Dash update make a cameo. Oh and Rare Logo is another character. If anybody in the world thinks of any other characters let me know.

in you salty alternate world? no they are not doing anything with their IPs and neither anyone asked for it. but everyone "thought" that Sony might had a "carisma/iconic" caracthers line-up by now to Copycat(lol) Nintendo.
Glad they tried with this POS game, because they cleary Do Not. Maybe two generations ago when they were relevant to the game industy to copied and not to be the copycats.

People who played it said it plays nothing like Smash Bros. Sony has a lot of IP's and this is a good way to refresh some old faces. Nothing wrong with that....
