WRC 3 goes to Portugal

WRC 3 goes to Portugal

This week, WRC 3 is taking us to sunny Portugal with a new full race. Once again, the choice of the external view is a bit of a shame, even more considering that the game features a cockpit view - which, we assume, means that more than 5% of WRC players use it. Maybe next time, but until then, here is a chance to see a new stage.

the game seems so guided... i remember some rally games where it was really hard to do a straith speeding, you'd always f- it up. here even the bumps give a small visual feedback, but it doesn't do jacks**t to the handling.

this is looking much better. and i saw something i wanted to see. the orange flimsy plastic barriers are no longer made of solid steel. the first game was good, but the tracks felt far too restricted becasue of invisible barriers, they seem more natural and open here. it's not an amazing looking game by any means. but it looks fun. and i've said it before, but i'm much more interested playing this then any codemasters racers.

This game has seriously got tons of praise off the ISR guys. Looking forward to it now.

Nice. But I would like to see it from the cockpit already.

None of physics! I insist! This is the level of the early 90s. Only with pixel shaders.

And yet McRae 2 as a rally sim is of a far higher standard than any of the current Dirt games and is a much, much better game.

no question, much better than Dirt, but not totally convinced/impressed yet

Colin McRae 1, 2 and even 3 are leagues beyond many of the current crop of "rally" games. The only console contender that bests Codemasters CM series is DICE's RalliSport Challenge 1 and 2. EDIT: I understand Richard Burns Rally was also no slouch.

RBR is regarded as the BEST rally game EVER made. I own it and would agree.

I heard it was quality. But I was unable to get my hands on a copy in Canada.

It never came to Canada. You have to import it and mod your xbox to play it.

About the game

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I just think it's a pretty bad sign if a new game can't generate interest on a free weekend. The fact that there are other new games is not a very compelling excuse imo. (23 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Black Ops is also the most popular Call of Duty sub-brand now. (24 minutes ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts Also, even WD2 and Dishonered 2 sold much less than the previous games in their series. Same for CoD:IW, very few games that got released this Holiday season sold more than their predecessors. (36 minutes ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts electric devices, entertainment devices, etc. So who has that much money left that isn't reserved for Christmas perparation and gifts?! All around bad timing, hence why I believe Spring would be right (38 minutes ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts Then you have the fact that by now people's wallets are hurting. And many people buyed new consoles, PS4 Base or Pro, and XB1 S. Plus Holiday season sells a lot of other things like clothes, PC parts, (40 minutes ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts I believe it has to do with the fact that there's too many games to play at the moment, and most of these new games ar very long. This is the week FF15 was just released, and WD2 on PC as well. (42 minutes ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts Maybe, but I believe it would have become a kind of "cult-classic" niche game even if it failed to become a very huge success. Still, if a game like TF2 isn't succesful, it's a real shame. (43 minutes ago)
