Another PS4 exclusive highlighted at the Paris Games Week, we were able to get our hands on Bloodborne and of course we recorded this short run. EDIT: Second part added
Graphics look really great! Not really sure about the gameplay, though this is the first of I've seen of it. Is it pretty much just a corridor hacknslash game?
Looks like the atmosphere is the strongest aspect right now. I do wish games like this would add a bit more gore/damage though. It's obviously already a mature game and there IS blood, so that's not an issue. Seeing these "hideous monsters" in their perfectly clean identical clothes that don't so much as get a blood stain when you slash them 10x with a massive sword is pretty disappointing.
Animations could use some variety too. Seeing the same death animation over and over gets really old. Let's hope this still has some development time to work out these issues, and maybe the gameplay will get more in-depth later in the game...
Haven't seen anything that makes me want this game. Doesn't seem like there's any real variation in the combat. Hope the full game is more exciting then these demos because hitting a few scarecrows in slow combat isn't doing it for me.

What do you mean by variation? If each weapon has two modes with it's own move set, it should have plenty of variation. The real variation will come from the enemies though, if previous Souls games are anything to go by. But no, if you want crazy 400-hit god of war combos and QTEs you are not going to find them here.
Yeah, but i think it's really stupid to call the Souls games, and by extension this, slow. If you play Any of the souls games and don't rely on turtling behind the largest shield you can find while sporting the Havel set and the largest fuckoff sword you could get your mitts on, you have to constantly position yourself, roll and dodge. You make way more decisions in a small encounter in Dark Souls than you do in pretty much any modern action title. I mean, the DmC remake thing? Didn't have to think at all, just hammer that button and watch things die, same with God of War or pretty much.
It's not as flashy looking, for sure. You'll never do a 20-hit combo and finish with a cinematic QTE where you cartwheel around the enemy and rip it's head through its ass. Doesn't make the games either slow or boring, the gratification just comes from the mechanics rather than some masturbatory cinematic. That's not to say that flashy games can't be good, i think DMC3 is a pretty good example of how you have both interesting mechanics and very flashy looking stuff at the same time.
Here's my handy guide to knowing if you should be hyped about this game; Did you play and love Demon's Souls and/or Dark Souls 1 and 2? Then get hyped. Didn't like any of those games? Then this is most likely not for you either. Haven't played any of the previously mentioned games? Go play Dark Souls right now, for fucks sake.
