ah, it's like in a forest, they often contain a lot of brown. Bloom yeah, I give you that. However being sometimes brown in a Rally game kind of makes it ok for me.

Some of the pix are looking pretty decent... Some of the pix look outstanding.

Looking good. This seems to be yet another example of how screens don't look as good as the games do in motion this generation.
Commented on 2007-03-30 16:49:59
need to see it in motion coz the gameplay trailer didnt look as good as screenshots which disapointed me
Commented on 2007-03-30 16:58:47
Hrm.. screens look better than in-motion, imo. The lighting on the car in screenshot 8 is pretty. I don't really care too much about the environment, as we saw in earlier shots, they'll be using enough blur (which makes it look prettier) to hide some bad stuff.

The graphics are good-- but not good enough to justify a lower framerate of ~30fps.
If DICE had been coding RalliSport Challenge 3 for Xbox 360, they would show that they are the real masters of coding. Their visuals would look as good as, if not better than DIRT, and would be running at 60fps.

RalliSport Challenge 2 for Xbox seemed more impressive for the time than DIRT does now.

Whatever.. I'm getting so tired of fps whiners like you everytime a new gameconsole racegame is announced.. I couldn't care less if it's running at 30, 60, or whatever fps.. Aslong as it looks gorgous and plays smooth I'm happy..

And you haven't even seen this game in motion, let alone played it yourself.. Yet you already know it sucks just because you heard or read 30 fps somewhere.. How sad..

I don't know who ever started these useless discussions, but if I was a gameconsole developer I would simply never announce what fps my game was running at.. It's not like you can check fps on a gameconsole anyway (like you can on PC).. It's only with gameconsole racegames I've noticed.. You never see discussions about how much fps Virtua tennis or whatever is running at.. Very weird..

whatever to you I totally disagree with you. the realtime DIRT in motion does NOT look smooth to me. an inconsistant 25-30 frames per second is NOT smooth. I'm sure the final game will be closer to a locked 30fps but that remains to be seen.

I'm tired of the people like you that think crappy framerates in racing games is acceptable. there's huge difference in quality of immersion and control with 60fps that you just don't get in with 25 to 30 fps. btw, DIRT so far is not even a constant 30fps.

And you haven't even seen this game in motion, let alone played it yourself.. Yet you already know it sucks just because you heard or read 30 fps somewhere.. How sad..
I've seen the new REALTIME gameplay trailer in motion, what are you talking about?
even though no one has seen the game in-person yet, the realtime trailer is a decent indication of how the game will look.

LOL. I don't think these discussions are useless at all - what's useless is, people like you acting as if crap framerates in racing games is okay. While one cannot check the EXACT framerate on console games, one CAN easily tell the difference between 60fps and 30fps. there's no reason to discuss the fps of Virtua Tennis because it's fine-- it runs at 60fps. I don't see what's weird about discussing framerates of racing games. you just come across as a casual gamer that thinks games like Motorstorm are fine with its crappy framerate. how come the majority of Xbox1 and PS2 rally racing games were 60fps? I guess framerate doesn't matter to people like you.

*shakes head in discust*

For most parts I do actually agree with you.. But man - You really need to boot rallisport challenge 2 again ... And then look at these screens again. They are worlds apart!

Besides PGR3 proved that a steady 30fps with lots of motionblur is fine for a nice sensation of speed. 60fps would be a preferable, but not getting 60fps wouldn't make me not want to buy it. I think it looks stellar (at least in screenshots and most places in the realtime trailer).

droezelke @Moonwalker: I agree. Other than the Metal Gear series, he didn't really present something as good. And I thought MGS5 was ultra boring (57 minutes ago)

Moonwalker Personally i find Kojima rather overrated. Yes MGS and MGS3 were fantastic, 2 wasn't nearly as good, same for 4 and 5....nah. (2 Hours ago)

nostradamus @jmd749: Kojima Productions is independent. wrap that and give it away to your other half. (3 Hours ago)
