Sonic Next Gen 720p screenshots

Sonic Next Gen 720p screenshots

Announcement time for Sega, who unveiled the first images of his Sonic Next Gen, planned for Xbox 360 and PS3 somewhere in 2006. After the mistake "Shadow the Hedgehog", it's damn good to have the Sonic of our childhood back in business !

How does the character model look like crap?
That is Sonic? What else do you want?
I love these screens, thank you Snoopers.

That's what I expected from the sonic model. Looks just like it's supposed too. Game looks great I might even try this sonic game.

It's been 6 years to the day since I've even cared about a Sonic game. This one looks great!

I don't think the Sonic model looks like crap, but I think it could look a lot more "next gen-ish"...

But everything looks great anyways.

I hope the Chao World is back...This time with Xbox Live capabilities to race, play, fight & even mate with other peoples Chao. And a huge online garden.

This is one of many Sonic games I'm intrested in since the Dreamcast game.
So far it's looking good, they are really going tech for this Sonic game fo'sho.

Now's the time games really start comming out Next Gen.

There isn't a lot you can do with Sonic other than make him higher poly each time. Fur shading wouldn't work (though it would on Tails.)

Have we reached the law of diminishing returns in terms of graphics? All of these udnerwhelming-looking next-gen games can't be an accident.

I think we've reached a point where people can't see how much better games look until you show them comparisons side by side.

I agree with the sentiment that you can't make Sonic look more next gen without.. you know,.. changing how Sonic looks, bur I also sort of see what people mean when they're underwhelmed by the look of Sonic.

However, these are drawn from the tech demo shown some time ago, and while they're bundled with the confirmation of next gen Sonic, I don't think we should attach too much to these screenshots.

Rejoice that he doesn't look like a balloon animal anymore (Sonic Heroes) and look forward to playing what's prolly the first Sonic game since 1999 that doesn't... play like a Sonic game from 1999.

What's up?
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer oh yea that, Dragon Age was preloading at the time (4 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (26 minutes ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (42 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (58 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (59 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (1 Hour ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (1 Hour ago)
